They're very similar. It sounds like the Carol Brass has a brighter response when you press the gas. I wound up getting a CB since it was available in silver plate, easier to maintain. I am enjoying it alot. As I suspected it's easier to play with less mpc pressure than my regular Bb. Thank you for the balanced comparison.

Spot on analysis. The Carol is a bit brighter, and also more open.

Great playing and comparison... Maybe the Carol brass is a little darker tone overall? Maybe the sound of P7 is just hitting the mic differently tho w upturned bell. Do you like one over the other? Thanks for doing the vid

Cool... how are you liking the horn? Sounds great. I'm thinking of getting one maybe. How's it compared to your regular trpt?

I really like the P7! The intonation is great. The sound is like a regular full size trumpet. However, the blow is a bit tighter than my other full sized horns. I just uploaded a video comparing my CarolBrass to the P7.

Just discovered this by pure accident and it has totally made my day. Great rendition of a classic tune and the whole performance is awesome! Will be passing it on to friends.

Nice! That's pretty much my dream horn. I play a student Yamaha I got used, has some dings here and there and has been dropped on the bell so it's got a little "crunch ring" around the bell part but it plays OK. So far I have the Bobby Shew Jazz mouthpiece .... I'm trying to hold off until I'm a better player, maybe as good as you someday! Then I can get my dream horn.

A good horn will sometimes speed up your progress. It's a combination of inspiration and easier playing which both encourage you to produce more. A damaged bell can inhibit the ring of your trumpet, so it's worth having it looked at by a good repair technician. Sometimes it ain't you, it's the horn.

Thanks. Bobby shew model is medium bore rather than ML which makes it easier to play. Alternative to Yamaha 8310Z. I prefer the silver plate.
