A fellow fisherman! I have never try flying fishing. Seems fun. Any recommendation for a good medium power telescopic rod? Was looking for something I can take while backpacking. Currently using an UL 4 piece rod.
@KenHicksJr28 күн бұрын
@@DrivenByJason I never used a telescopic pole. I know backcountry fly fishing for native trout is a thing. 2wt or 3wt fly rods. Those are around 7'7". Up north, steelhead and salmon would be a blast. I use my 8wt for salmon.

a fellow fisherman eh. I have never tried fly fishing. Any recommendation on a good telescopic spinning rod? In the market for a medium power one. I want something portable for backpacking. Currently using a 4 piece UL rod but wanted to aim for bigger fish lol.

It's always the gadgetry and little things that weigh you down. They are security items, they comfort people who are psyched out by being in the woods. Things like knives, flash lights, cooking stuff, gimmicky survival kit stuff, over built packs, food that has a ridiculous low calorie to weight ratio.

When I first started backpacking, I was obsessed with gadgetry and gimmicky stuff. I like to be comfortable, and I'm always learning.

You go "fiddling " for worms in the woods, cut a small sapling about 2'-3' high and draw the saw across the flat top of tree gently, it'll send vibrations through the roots and anytime under the ground will come up! Worms,bugs,rodents,snakes,ect. Remove any loose foliage from ground b4 fiddling that way you can see what comes up ...5'-10' around area
