Ryan’s brother was the instigator in this whole thing, Ryan just went along as the accomplice. And this other inmate really wasn’t nice to him even though he didn’t start any fights.

you can see why sandy needed to save him. he was his own worst enemy and sandy saw so much of himself and what he almost became. he knew ryan could beat the odds like he did and wanted him to so badly, he risked a lot to make it happen. it's like he paid his good fortune forward and ryan did the same in the finale

I can’t shake this show when ever things aren’t right I comeback to this show for comfort I thank the writers for creating a character in our situations with at least some people who care for him for us who don’t we still see him as a beacon of hope I will forever be grateful to this show for helping me feel no so lost in the system
