please note the flame to secure and prevent fraying will only apply to synthetic material (polyester, linhasita waxed cord) or it will just catch fire

if you are a smol child, or an psych ward patient, and don't have a lighter, i've found rubber bands work very well. i got the idea from @minotes

Do many people happen to have string to hand? Thread won’t work. Folding or cutting the corners of the page works well I’ve found. For temporary page marking just use a bit of paper as a bookmark.
