Born in Knoxville Graduated HS in Memphis and now live in Chattanooga....I love Knoxville the most but if you want a mix of scenic and city life Chattanooga has that Hybrid style the most I feel! As far as weather goes in Chattanooga with the mountains surrounding us, it acts as a barrier against most severe weather.

Difficult question... what hospitals are close to this area? Is there any pacamkwr clinics in this area or hospitals that would have good specialties for cardiology?

Apparently you've not done your homework, Nashville is proud to have the largest Kurdish population in the world, they own many businesses downtown, including many if the most popular bars, and restraunts. In the 90s East Nashville was run down with crime rates and empty homes. Thankfully the Gay community came in bought those old "painted lady" homes and now East Nashville including famous 5 points is extremely safe area with tons of gay owned businesses. That area is now one of the most sought out places to live bc of the beautiful architecture, old homes and friendly diverse community. It went from a place you couldn't go outside after dark in the 90s to one of the safest most beautiful areas of Nashville. Green Hills is where "old money" people live and it's also diverse but traffic is a nightmare. Nashville and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful but we are diverse and welcoming of all people. I'm born and raised here and we are a very friendly welcoming city. If you're looking for maga folks you may find a few but hate is not tolerated here.

Recent move-in to Middle TN here (from SoCal). I love it here, but honestly, I do not like Nashville too much (not a city person, at all). Middle TN has so many wonderful towns and communities that are not urban at all, and folks are so friendly and kind. North toward Clarksville or south toward Columbia or Murfreesboro much more peaceful and the further from Nashville, the lower the cost of living, specially housing. Depending on your career skills, the resources of a big city like Nashville are not necessary. Even being more "out of the way" in places like Lewisburg or Hohenwald, you have plenty of resources and very good quality of life. The choices are plenty and wonderful.

The first mistake you will make is admitting that you came from California cause we can't stand people from California moving here and you will hate the winter and the summer and the lack of good paying jobs and the high prices and taxes and in friendly people cause we have enough of people like you coming here trying to change it into exactly what they are trying to get away from I've seen many people come to my small town just to leave and go back after a few years

I have lived in Knoxville, Memphis, and Collierville, but not Nashville as work and retirement have been my reasons. Knoxville and Chattanooga would be my choices, I would avoid Memphis, and highly recommend Collierville or East Tennessee for retirement! We moved to Collierville for the great schools for our kids, and stayed in retirement. It was a small town 30 miles from Memphis when we moved here, and it grew into a great conservative suburb over the years, while Memphis grew into a beautiful but not really safe city as much due to the government as the gangs in some areas.

A tip, if you got a gas stove from a pro chef. Cover the bottom with tinfoil every time you cook. That way when you are done, you just pick up the greasy foil and give the bottom a quick wipe and its clean. If you have trouble to kepp it down, take a moist cloth and wipe the area before applying tinfoil. Then the foil will stick easy.

Eric's wife (Coral): My hubby and I are seriously considering moving to Knoxville in the next few years here. We want to settle somewhere and put down roots. We like that homeschooling seems strong here, we like the natural part of TN to buy some land for a home. He's a welder and I have worked in the hospitality industry, having also published a book. We would LOVE to learn more about this city having recently visited on our adventure trip for our anniversary.

East Tennessean here, who lives 20 minutes south of Knoxville, and let me give you some advice; Knoxville isn't nearly the smaller town it once was, so you might want to look at counties surrounding Knoxville/Knox County if you're looking for land. Unfortunately, everyone is moving here and has been for over a decade, with the migration speeding up significantly in 2018, so land isn't necessarily cheap in many places, and the market is definitely competitive. Also, if you look at crime stats for a city, make sure you look at violent crimes AND white collar crimes percentages and what types of violent and white collar crimes that area has the most of.

YOU WILL BE REPLACING IT EVERY 8 TO 10 YEARS. 7500.OO TO 15000.00. EVERYTHING HAS GOTTEN TO EXPENSIVE!!!!!! NOTHING LAST ANYTIME. CONSTANTLY REPLACING THINGS. NOW LACK OF TRUST. SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS DOWN HERE. I'M MOVING FOR SURE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ALREADY. YOU NEED DEEP POCKETS DOWN HERE. YOU WILL BE TAKING FOR A RIDE!!!!!!
