Just when it seems there are so many problems in our country, we are reminded that "small town America" still exists and a big team of folks (and even bigger horses) are here to celebrate it.

I was hanging out with a friend on Main Street all night that night. We had the windows open and at one point we heard what I thought sounded like a herd of galloping horses. I went to leave just before sunrise and saw the orange glowing sky above IH and wandered over despite my friend’s misgivings. It looked like hell had opened up and was spewing into the sky. I was riding a bicycle home after the sun had just rose and that unreal sense followed me across town as ash was raining down everywhere. A burning ember landed on my shirt at one point and I just knew people would have to be evacuated from their homes which I found out later my friend and his family had to evacuate. Absolutely unreal experience I will never forget from what feels like a lifetime ago now.

Those Budweiser Clydesdales are gorgeously conceited perhaps rightly so and that lil' old "bad butt" dog is a spoiled brat!
