My family at one point got the Director’s Series tape of Star Trek IV, which showed the movie in widescreen, so I saw the difference then, but it wasn’t until seeing the special edition of Star Wars in the theater that I really appreciated widescreen and started to collect widescreen VHS tapes. I had a decent collection going until DVD came along.

It is clear that both women black and white aren't equal friends at all. Sarah-Jane observes this and she is rfustrated, ashamed, and angry towards her mother who behaves in a submissive,, way, - a servant under her "white friend". This definitely affects Sarah-Jane because she expected her mother to do more for herself and probably be a better role model to her. Sarah-Jane also believes that her light bright skin colour is near to white and this gives her the advantage for her to have the best quality of life and bring better opportunities.

I remember a TBS or Nick at Night promo for Munsters back in the 90s that had like someone singing along to the theme, referring to Herman as "a frankenstein" which I thought was hilarious!

Remember the black lady in It's A Wonderful Life? Ever watched The Little Colonel with Shirley Temple?-- lots of politically incorrect language in that movie. Native Americans had similar racial discrimination in Oklahoma in the 1950's+.

It wasn't very kind of her to offer her 20%. It should have been 50%. It was her recipe. African Americans had to know there was a race problem, during this period when they rode in segregated cars on the railroad. One thing that always helps is money. Madam C. J. Walker [ recorded as the first female self-made millionaire in America in the Guinness Book of World Records], built a mansion on the Hudson in New York. Had Delila used her wealth to build a mansion and buy anything she wanted; I don't think her daughter would have felt the need to pass for "white". However, Delila chose to live in Miss Bea's basement. She didn't even want the money, even though she had a daughter to support She told Miss Bea she could have the money as a present. For lack of a better adjective, that was stupid.

Part of the reason they could do it is because of the intelligence of 20th century people. You couldn’t sell it now.

This movie is so stupid and insulting. As a white passing and cis passing woman this movie is insulting because it’s a film that projects cis black and brown people’s racial fantasies on us passing folk. In other words it’s black/ brown and cis people’s assumption and projection on a topic they don’t know nothing about. There is so much sensitivity left out and what is added in the film is such BS that it is not relatable. A missed opportunity. Next time let us tell our own stories we don’t need help telling our own stories and experience by someone who is mis informed and can only tell our stories through their own fantasies
