Hard is between the easy to challenging map transition so most of the community who prefer actual challenging maps do not like hard because it's not easy enough not either hard enough for me. I think hard it's just a difficulty design just for new players to find a challenge, but as you keep playing the game you don't find really find the maps hard to beat anymore losing all it's main purpose. Not to add how the difficulty is just in general hated by the community which means map makers are usually not interested into making hard difficulty maps...
