So if it works why was it de-serviced? Im always a bit suspicious of "New style replacements" . Often times the simplicity and overengineering from the past demonstrate that machines can literall run forever with the prper TLC. Right up until the moment someone decides its too old and must be replaced. Like my uncle who buys a new caddilac every two years regardless of milage, because its OLD and Junky now....Me rolls eyes and buys Caddilac for 1/3 its value. Driving same car 14 years later and its still perfect
@kaakkuri8620 күн бұрын
I think they thought that it was too old like you said. It is a very bad reason to modernize an elevator. Quite often elevator is in bad condition due to bad maintainance and they think that the elevator needs to be replaced because it's too old. These were not in bad condition, but maybe they thought that energy costs are much higher and old elevators are dangerous that is not true. In Finland there are still relatively many original elevators older than 50 years. In Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and almost all European countries. the situation is a lot worse. They don't understand that the modernization rarely pays for itself. Spare parts may be cheaper at first, but if they will choose a cheep modernization, it needs another modernization after 20 years or something and it don't pay for itself before that. It they will choose better quality modernization, it will last longer, but because the cost of modernization is larger, it still rarely pays for itself.
@LaatiMafia18 күн бұрын
@@kaakkuri86 Accessibility might also be a reason. Old elevators are not always in level with the floors; and not having automatically sliding doors can be an issue as well.
@kaakkuri8617 күн бұрын
@@LaatiMafia Yes sometimes, but leveling of those elevators was accurate enough I think. I most cases they want to preserve the gates, but if they will be replaced also, then accesibility was probably one reason.

Mikä tuo juttu tuolla oven yläreunassa videon lopussa? Onko kenties mekaaninen kerrosnäyttäjä?
@kaakkuri8620 күн бұрын
Virran hätäkatkaisin, joka on melko yleinen Ruotsin vanhoissa hisseissä. En tiedä, mitä järkeä siinä on.

@@finnishelevators0397Yes but if it closes down after ten years or something, it could be hard to found the adress if this building in 2050s.
