I didn't pull ANY foils out of my mb2 box. I did pull a textured jeweled lotus out of my collection pack though. It was the only thing that saved the purchase.

The bans themselves were good. The cards were overpriced and design mistakes. The fact they did it all at once if kinda crazy. I don’t blame the RC. I blame wotc for letting the cards get that expensive without enough reprints

I agree. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford and play high end cards. That being said I only play with people the enjoy high power. I think wizards messed up by shaking the trust of the 20% who make up 80% of the profit. I can understand why they made the decision but they didn't account for the high power players. I know my budget in a month is bigger then most of what a team is causal player spend in the year. I have lost faith in chasing high end and powerful cards. For the time I had quit spending with Wotc.

You can afford them because you understand the 80/20 rule, it's obvious you read about business. WOTC doesn't understand it, they think they can always get 120% of everything all the time and never attempt to please anyone, let alone the top 20%.

I agree with you. It does seem this is highlighting a real need for separation between casual and competitive edh. WOTC are also goung to want to avoid something like this again impacting demand for future product. This ban was enough of a shock for me to start thinning out my collection - not the banned cards but other EDH staples that could get banned in future. I’m sure I can manage 4 good commander decks with the best cards instead of 12! 🤓.

I’ve noticed that too. I see a few stray boosters here and there at the Walmart and Target in my neck of the woods, but no crazy amounts. People must be scooping them up as they go. Glad I found some of the commander decks and a bundle when I did.

It's not negative. There's no value in collecting these days. Wotc reprints everything over and over or bans the "power houses" collector boosters are just a ploy to gain more wealth for hasbro and thier investors. I can throw the word collectors item on a dried up dog turd but it doesn't make it rare, collectable or valuable. A turd is still a turd no matter how you dress it. This game has been going down the drain at warp speed. These products aren't for us they're for hasbro executives and wotc hot shots. If products were for us they'd be 50% cheaper and actually a collectable tcg. It's a joke at this point at our expense.

I absolutely detest the secret lair art and most of the new art. Gone are the days of masculine men, and curvy woman. The art is as neutral as its gender neutral characters.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and I played the heck out of Star Wars Destiny, but between FFG's bad decisions with Destiny and the meh art in Unlimited I decided to pass on the game and stick with Magic. But hey, we're getting Marvel Magic cards next year so eventually I think we'll get Star Wars in Magic as well.

I think they did this on purpose dumping ixalan commander collector boosters knowing its trash and no one will buy them due to the banning. So they gave us actual trash i for one is a victim of this.
