Wouldn't it be simpler to just make the part taller, and then create a sketch on the "xy"plane and check cut normal on the cut command ?

This method works in some cases and is therefore shown in this tutorial. But this is not a universal solution for all scenarios, which is why I also showed other solutions.

Hi, it's fantastic, but if you rotate 22.5° you get two spirals, with multiples you get other interesting shapes. Bye, regards.
