Fyi, the 16th District of Louisiana comprises 10 Scottish Rite craft lodges in New Orleans. This came about as the result of a historical compromise between the original French Masons in Louisiana and the recently-arrived Americans, who wanted to impose York Rite (and English) on the newly formed state of Louisiana -- a real Masonic soap opera recounted really well by WB Michael Poll in his fascinating KZbin lectures (in fact he's spoken at the GL of PA -- kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4DHZquvqqqdq9E). I belong to one such lodge, Cervantes #5. Aside from some lodges in California and New York, the 16th District is the only place in the US (or the English-speaking world) where Scottish Rite craft degrees are conferred.
