It was my first visit to the city. I aimed to just get the main high footfall areas of the city. I will be going back at some point to film again so I will get more of the whole city in.

​@@scenicrouteuk The city centre has slowly died in the last 20 years since: 1 - Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw started his city centre regeneration project, leaving us with a massive Broadway sized hole in the ground for almost 12 years. Him and the council leader Susan Hinchcliffe overspend on everything, every build or renovation is delayed, and we rarely get what was promised. The Interchange which they're currently renovating was closed for most of 2024, after some concrete fell in an underground car park, before regeneration work had even started, leading to fears that it might have to be closed permanently. The regenerated Bradford Live still isn't open yet, when it should've been open ages ago. The newly built Darley Street Market isn't open yet, when it should've been open ages ago. The newly built One City Park building isn't full yet, even though the council claimed they had tenants ready to fill it when it was built. Plus The Kirkgate Shopping Centre and The Oastler Shopping Centre will be getting demolished in the next year or two. 2 - Tokyo Industries owner Aaron Mellor bought around 5 of our main nightclubs on Morley Street around 2008, and has kept most of them closed for the majority of the last 17 years. It caused a chain reaction, forcing most of the other nightclubs on and around Morley Street to close, as not enough people were clubbing in the city centre anymore. 3 of the biggest ones which he doesn't own, have now been converted into a large church, plus a large pre-drinks bar opposite, has now been converted into a cafe restaurant. Aaron Mellor has effectively killed the clubbing scene around Morley Street. There's still bars and clubs elsewhere in the city centre, however it will never be as good as it used to be.

@@scenicrouteuk Forster Square Retail Park is a high footfall area, although some of the shops around there aren't as good as they used to be either. Sunbridge Wells which reopened in 2016, after being closed since the 60s or 70s, is definitely worth a look. North Parade aka the Independent Quarter with it's mini bars is also worth a look, although I prefer nightclubs than small bars. And Little Germany is a filming hotspot, just like Bradford City Hall. Since 2022, Little Germany has appeared in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (2025), Emmerdale (1972-present), All Creatures Great & Small (2020-present), Virdee (2025), The Six Triple Eight (2024), Platform 7 (2023), Bodies (2023), Tell Me About It (2023), The Crown (2016-2023), Gentleman Jack (2019-2022), Peaky Blinders (2013-2022) etc and.. Since 2022, Bradford City Hall has appeared in Gandhi (2025), Virdee (2025), Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger (2025), Emmerdale (1972-present), The Teacher (2022-present), Upgraded (2024), Bodies (2023), Bank of Dave (2023) etc. Both Little Germany & Bradford City Hall have been used in at least 50 mainstream productions each, not to mention all the amateur productions which have also used them.

Yeah it was a nice city. Some great looking buildings

LOL believe me, it is far from litter free. They tidy up the immediate center however if you were to walk 5 mins away from the center you would see mounds of trash and hundreds of rats feasting. It is abhorrent.

Cornwall is on my list of places to visit this year definitely 👍🏼

In Leek, there are lots of brightly-coloured benches - all exhibiting a number of symbols of the town. The confusion is: what's the cockerel doing there? Although very prominent on these municipal benches, the rooster isn't thought to be a bird that is anything to do with the Staffordshire Moorlands. The local paper was so perturbed by this anomaly that it set a reporter on the case, who reported back saying that it was... umm ... all a mistake! The bird should be a moorhen. The original mistake, made in 1956, has never been corrected. - Leek Post

Not sure about sit in restaurants but for Indian takeaway you can’t beat Achaari on Hurdsfield Road in my opinion

Yeha it’s a really pretty quiet town. I’m sure it’s not so quiet in peak summer but the weather was still good to visit
