good lawyer or massive company doesnt win you cases when you submit an exaggerated complaints thats too broad if they win it will affect the gaming industry and it can lead to no developments in future games it will became stale and games wont evolve and people will just see same concept and gameplay over and over

​@criauxe people are going off of American law and running with that. Japanese law is significantly more stringent. Nintendo wins this, easily. All they have to do is prove they have the patent, and palworld devs used the patent intentionally. There are like dozens of trailers that are official that directly reference Pokémon, so they knew what they were doing. They also have design patents for Pokémon toys, patents from BotW, patents from Pokémon games. It's an open shut case 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@BeeTheBeeBut yet with what I’m hearing about the lawsuit, it’s more than likely that PocketPair is going to win the lawsuit because of how vague and illegitimate Nintendo is being with filing for a patent that involves the game mechanics that are being used in other games besides Pokemon and Palworld, so if Nintendo somehow surprisingly pulls a win out of their asses over PocketPair and Palworld then in the future it’ll be very difficult for other brands to put their own games out publicly without somehow stepping on their toes via infringement of a patent or also somehow making them mad to where they file a lawsuit just because they’re mad.

Yes a lot of games copy mechanics from each other but pal world straight up copied Nintendo took designs of Pokemon and just changed it alittle.

Yeah its not the gameplay loop that was copied its just a creature capture game which is far from only being in one game its the designs that are blatant copyright infringement

It would be funny, but not all indie games are good most are more wholesome and most are underrated but that doesn’t change the fact that copyright is copyright they still clearly copied the designs Nintendo is in the right
