If you have a model 3001A/B, this video is not fully what you need. The drive cables are different as is the fan assembly. I mistakenly ruined one of the drive cables and the motherboard attachment. I had to buy another PS3. This is still an amazing video worthy of watching for any disassembly. He’s really organized and delivered great info and insightful details & tips. I love the tape for screws tip!

Hello using this guide in 2024 thanks Chris. 2 things; its a power supply not a battery. You need to highlight that the Blu-ray drive fits in between the notches on the power button.

The strip that is supposed to help take the battery out is so short on my mouse, there is nothing to pull on, so I have to keep digging out the battery. But I agree with everything else in this review. I was just surprised to see how long this mouse has been around.

In this video, the little bar of plastic between the triggers are attached to the back of the controller. However, in all of mine, it is separated from both sides and refuses to stay in place. It's making it a nightmare to reattach the two sides because it keeps moving when we try. Ive tried taking it out and placing it in the back plate to insert it like you did, but they have 2 long plastic pieces that make it near impossible. How can I get around this? We're contemplating just supergluing them down

You should have ordered several different 3rd party ear pads from different suppliers to get a more robust comparison. It's likely different manufacturers provide different levels of quality.

aside from scratches, did you check if there was indeed any pressure being applied onto the screen by the cover? I've read that since there is very minimal space between the keyboard and screen to begin with that putting a cover would add additional pressure.

the best tutorial. there was some slight differences, but i really liked the emphasis on each screw, as i was trying to keep track but couldn't remember. most tutorials just speed right through the reassembly process and i hate that... what's the point?
