My buddy and I visited the complex in September 2020 after watching a video of a couple of adventure motorcyclist who searched for it and found it. Unfortunately it has been bulldozed and leveled, I would have love to be a guest at the resort. Thanks for sharing, our visit can be seen on Outdoor Robs channel! Cheers

How much of it is gone? There were a lot of usable buildings there and it looked like some of them were being restored.

So it doesn’t produce 40plus inch Muskie typically??? Then what is the point of even Muskie fishing?? Definitely not the best Muskie fishing lake in the world then. The lake I fish in Ohio consistently produces 40 plus inchers. Just landed a FAT 46 incher a few days ago and my dad’s biggest is 53. I just don’t understand how u can say it’s the best in the world if it doesn’t produce big Muskie.
@wilderfish
@wilderfish Ай бұрын
Yeah but does it produce a dozen 46-inchers in a day? I've caught a lot of 40-plus inchers and I have caught a 53-incher. You can pick your own favorite muskie lake if you like. If you are only interested in catching 40-inchers then this isn't the lake for you.

I'm going to try this with Tilapia. A bunch of our lakes have been inundated with Tilapia. I'm not a big fan of that type of fish, but it'll do until trout season starts in the Winter of 2024-25. Keep making these wonderful videos. They are very informative and enjoyable.

O If ( that map is pre 1965)you look at the border between Ontario and Quebec, they asked Ontario back in about 1965,to give them,Quebec, a 100 mile wide strip off of Ontario's land, because the French fur trappers supposedly complained they had to go into Ontario to use the French river,to access their trap lines further up in Quebec! So the Aurora,Ontario museum had an original copy of Ontario 's original boundaries! When I visited when I was 30,back in 86!

My father is in the hospital currently and I went searching for Ball Lake Lodge so he could reminisce and I found your video. He absolutely loved seeing it again. He went there in 1960 and 1962. Barney Lamm also owned Caribou Falls Lodge and 2 other places on Gods Lake in Manitoba. My dad has filled my childhood with stories of Ball Lake Lodge and it was wonderful seeing this place come to life. Thank you for this video

My name is Davidschwarz, my grandparents, Charlotte peters and Wille\William peters would come to Barney’s all through the 60s. She was a St. Louis television personality. And would absolutely love it. My father and brother-in-law has been to Barney’s in the early 2000s. And I just recently went back in 07 with a small group of guys and really had a great time. Fishing was pretty good. The guides were quite remarkable. We actually stayed in the servants cabins that were and probably still are decent shape. And then we ate and the servants that’s closer to their cabins. Thank you for sharing this. I will pass it along.

I’m portaging into a numbers lake like this in July off of Eagle Lake. You’ll catch a lot of fish but you won’t catch much over 40 but it should be fun. There’s probably quite a few lakes like this up there. You just have to pay to get to them.
@wilderfish
@wilderfish 7 ай бұрын
Yes there are, I have fished just about all of them. If you want to contact me directly by email I can probably offer info on them. And by pay, I assume you mean with LABOR!

If you make a batter how much milk or beef would you put into your basic recipe
@wilderfish
@wilderfish 7 ай бұрын
I add enough milk to make it a batter, but not too thick. If it's real thick you get too much batter on the fish.
