Man, this game is a Save System away from being a favorite of mine. A "regular" save system would, uh... SAVE the game for me. (heh heh). Seriously though, I'd love it, and play the hell out of it, if I could actually save my progress. A shame.

Watching this at 51 minutes in, I have to wonder if he realizes Bruendorf his dwarf samurai is actually an elf. He accidently picked the wrong race for him.

I bought this yesterday based on this video. I never finished one, my claim to fame is finishing 3 on the PC (CGA three color graphics). Brutal. I like the new mapping scheme and the new rules. A lot easier and still fun.

I was ready to give in after a full party wipe on level 3 then I found your video. Your love for the game is contagious! Thank you so much. I went back and created a new party and leveled up again, rescued the first party and have fallen in love with this game over the last week plus. It is amazing and truly unique. That feeling of danger the first time you go to a new level is so addictive. It’s a feeling I haven’t felt since the early days of EverQuest. I hope you see this comment to know you’ve helped create a new Wizardry fan.

Ah...you just sold me on this game. I've been on the fence ever since it launched but just watching you play and hearing you talk about it has got me feeling like this is something i can get into.

Enjoying the playthrough but I'll be honest - it was driving me nuts that you seemed to keep missing the updated spells / spell slots on the level up screen.

The relentless pace of encounters is something I remember about this game, less than fondly. And the longer the game goes on, the more the major NPCs clump up on the road to bother you.

Man I LOVED this game, but I haven't replayed it since Wizardry 8 came out. 8 is the most replayable game ever

A Wizardry 2 as a continuation of Wizardry 1 should be treated as an expansion, and sold as DLC.

This is one game I always wanted to finish. Played on amiga early 90's. It ran on floppies and took forever to load.

You have done well, I found that fountain early and it saved me so many times. You even found the spare rubber. I recommend a visit to the Smithy or Quegqueg to clear inventory. .

Great to see you back Armour plate is the best way to survive giants, a bless is also useful. When exploring the dark, the detect spell helps you find useful stuff. I have fond memories of stumbling around trying to find things in those mines.

u can copy saves right away on the title menu so if u die un ctrl alt delete then reload a copy

In that final instance. You would close the party with your two living characters, then send in medics with poison cure so they can be rescued.

Its fun watching those who have played this back in the day. Its just as brutal now, but i would looooove to watch the uninitiated play this. Btw does no one know that creeping coins have the best xp for the least threat 🤔

But im curious after your 11 minute rant about "I expect this in Alphas" and "this spell is broken" how long did it take you to realize you were not using the correct spell? the only spell that can cure petrification in the dungeon is the 6th level Spell "Madi: Fully restores all the Hit Points of a single character and removes all negative status effects"

quequeg might help you with your swag. items and scrolls need the appropriate skills otherwise can cause bad filures

I stumbled upon wiz1 on the 8bit Nintendo. Had no idea what I was getting into. Bought a retro clone 8bit a few years ago, purchased wiz1 and original zelda.

If I remember correctly, the amount of in game time that passed between a TPK and a retrieval group would determine how many characters/ equipment you would find. It made having a retrieval team available quite important.

Wizardry 1 was the very first CRPG I ever saw and I will always remember it. I was probably about 11, and was obsessed with AD&D 1st edition, and I was downtown with my folks and we walked by some sort of Apple Store. I walked in and saw the game running on an Apple ][ and it was like the equivalent of seeing a moon landing or some other thing that just completely redefines in your mind what is possible. I was amazed at seeing basically a dungeon, complete with monsters and a party to fight them. Just blown away. This was the beginning of a lifelong appreciation for CRPG’s and one of my favorite memories of all time. Thank you Mr. Woodhead and Mr. Greenberg!

Hi, i'm having an issue recovering a party wipe on the 10th level. it just gives me a general area of the floor when i cast Kandi. I thought i got back to the area where i wiped with my recovery party, but i don't see them. Is there a search button i am missing? (using xbox controller) will they pop up on the screen so i can recover? thanks for your time, i enjoy your videos.

When you're talking about the teleporter trap on the 4th floor - you're partially right. It does zoom you to what appears to be a a different part (normally inaccessible) portion of the 4th floor. However, I was able to find my way out without having to teleport out (since my mage didn't have it). So, in this version at least, you're not totally hosed if you blow a teleporter trap here. :)

The create party, drop into dungeon, come out and pool gold didn't work for me for some reason. I started a New Game, got the beginning party, deleted them and made my own. Went into dungeon, came out, and no additional gold. Thus, I couldn't buy gear and fighting mobs with fists and no armor was a quick wipe. Any idea if this is bug/glitch? This method works fine on my main game, but any New Games it does not. I, also, played original Wizardry back in the early 80s on my buddy's Apple II Still a great game!

You played well. I just found the final battle anti climatic. It was treated as any other battle. The last level behaved and looked like all the others. This is a hard pass for me

This game is not meant to be save and reloaded. I know that. Im with that. I dont like it if even I fully agree. Wizardy is met for the hard core permadeath crowd. Im not one of those. Ill play something else. Not an issue
