You did not show how to remove the old seal from both sides of the pump housing. Mine is not going to come out easy. Also, the 9/16" bolts holding the pump housing to the motor had thread lock on them. Should thread lock be cleaned off and fresh thread lock applied?

Yes, if you choose to add thread lock. Generally this pops out, sorry for not showing this.

Our pool cover grommets are embedded in the paver stones and theres sand between each stone when they installed it. The sand was added for water to permeate through it, that being said, are there covers to protect the grommets from sand getting on the threads when we open it.?

You’ll have to keep an eye on that. If it starts to pull too much on the cover just pump some out. But you do want some weight in there for winter storm protection

You buy a cover pump to pump the water off the top and back underneath.

I have a nautilus cc with a brand new communication cable installed. Where should the float be installed on the cable? The original float was only about 20 inches from the vacuum. Is the float supposed to be under water all the time? It seems like the float keeps my vacuum from staying on the bottom of the pool. Help please. Thanks

I think I have never used rinse or recirc, always just filter and backwash. Does it matter? I dont even know if my installer made those other ports active, some are blocked off with no pipe on it. Also, can you make a video on the sight glass? Mine is almost full of sediment, does it just unscrew?

Recirc means you are bypassing the filter, rinse is used after backwash to settle the sand in the tank. All ports are active on a hayward multiport. If you are going to run your pump you mine as well run it on filter. Yes, the sight glass does unscrew.

My pup fell in the pool and gouged a paw print closer to the top by the waterline on the side. Is it better to drain a little out and do the patch or add water and do it under the water? My guess is it's easier to patch as dry as possible so let a little out, let sit for a few days to dry or fill back up to add pressure?

You lower the water below the skimmer? What about using a cover over the faceplate and keeps the water level high. I can't fill with my well I have to have water delivered.
