@@stephendippenaar9986 I don't get this guy schilling Intel right now when the 9700X with PBO on(which par for the course on AMD) causes the processor to go from similar performance at half the power to what 30-40% more performance at the same power? I've been on AM4 since 2017 - 4 CPU generations in the same socket and upgrades were by choice, not necessity... AMD has promised years of support for AM5 as well so I've got an awesome new platform to move into if I decide not to upgrade to a 5800x3d first, & with how expensive graphics cards are why wouldn't I stick with AM4 a bit longer? I mean it's like this person has no idea about the 13th & 14th gen Intel parts frying themselves so that "performance" is at the sake of longevity & reliability...

The 7800X3D is the best CPU on the market right now for gaming due to its 3D V Cache which will give you good boost in games. Games also run better on CPUs that are betting with single threaded tasks so if youre gaming a i7 or Ryzen 7 CPU will usually run faster than its i9 / Ryzen 9 counterpart which are better at multi threaded tasks.

Got to be kidding me You're really going to stay that the LGA1700 is a strength versus AM5? And five will be backwards compatible with the ryzen 7000 series and forward compatible with another couple generations in the same way AM4 was compatible with four generations of architectures. That is not until strength or Intel's win that is definitely AMDs strength and when and you try and make it sound like that's a pro for Intel instead. You have to get a new motherboard with almost every generation for Intel.

What appears as a strength for consumers, is certainly a throttle point for a company. If you need to make products backwards compatible for several generations, it means every new product must support older technology, which limits the advancements of your new technology. Some older AM4 motherboards do not have enough BIOS memory to support all AM4 CPUs at once; which means, at some point, the user has to choose, if he wants support for the most recent chips at the cost of support for his old chip - and yes, i´m mentioning AM4, because despite it being already EOL socket, AMD still keeps making some CPUs for it.

Fyi, Intel people keep their chips longer. Rarely have I ever upgraded a CPU on the same platform. So I have no problem choosing end of life motherboards. Especially since by then I can usually get them new for 50% off. When you get them that cheap you can sell them and usually get all your money back, if a new chipset comes out. The only thing I care about is bang for buck. What has the best performance for the cheapest money, and for me that was a 13700k just this past prime day. Amazon return that looks unused for $230. I was more than willing to go with amd, but what I found when building this new system is that you can put together a higher performance Intel system for less money at the moment. The other thing is, I'm not just a gamer.

@@DingleBerryschnapps it's like you completely forgot about the previous Gen AM4 which lasted 4 generations/6 years+ and still has new processors being released on it - I started with 1700x & now I'm using the 5900x & 5800x3d in two different systems with my oldest system housing a 3900x on a b350 in my son's room. The video was arguing socket backward and forward compatibility for Intel but that is 100% AMD's strength and to say otherwise is laughable! And have you been living under a rock? More performance for less money for used parts means you found a good deal - which you can find on both sides, only the 13700K comes from a generation that is frying itself leading to parts prematurely dying...

Pleased I went for 14600k instead of 14700k or 14900k now. I dont see a need for an extra few per cent gains. Will be waiting a year or two for a better upgrade.

At that level it's all down to moore's law and Intel has the solution with new backside power in new architecture which will run faster and cooler to gain much needed respect coming this fall. Both chips have done well but with new manufacturing facilities new architecture Intel will be the one to watch! Grabs my popcorn.

Userbench is a benching site that is focused on results rather than feelings on defective chips I am on 13900k with a failed 1st cpu, and fine on 2nd one If 14900ks wins in benchmarks against 9950x it would be sad, because that means AMD didn't manage to take the best time to win But if 14900ks wins on paper and in benchmarks, then it wins Put feelings aside. It's like a supped up car wins in quarter mile run, but won't win in 200k mile drive (likely so) compared to Toyota Camry Intel forced their CPUs into sky high levels, and failures are the result of it. Not an excuse, but an objective view. I undervolted all my CPUs but architecture is flawed somewhere, even with undervolting and cores pinned, first chip failed. If Userbench has better stats, it's a reality of the victory, not the advocate of longevity of said chip

Not necessarily. There's a place for a Z7iii. Some people want a Z6iii with higher mp. The Z8 is bigger & heavier. Nikon has made this kind of mistake before, not catering to a specific want.
