I remember when we discussed the concept of Climate Resilience with our people last year, our people's response was that they didn't like to word "resilience" as we have already adapted through changes, at the poverty level through land confiscations and injustices and became resilient to change. What our people are looking for is the pathway from Resilience to Thriving. Our people believe that if there are any Climate Change capacity investment should focus more on that. One of those concepts they identified as part of Resilience to Thriving capacity building is aligning any work progress that meets their Climate aspirations which ties to the health and wellbeing of their ancestral genealogical deities. I'd like to gain your thoughts on what would "From Climate Resilience to Thriving" look like for your tribe or at a locally? Also, we did talk about Climate Change and Covid-19. At the onset of Lockdown, we did not obtain any help, so we literally had to deliver food-packs to our elderly and our tribal beneficiaries. We also realised that we had to grow our own food to be self-sustainable. From that conversation, we also realised that what land we had left after land confiscations, we had to build the capacity of this generation to become that thriving tribe we use to be before colonisation. We also realised that this is the time to innovate and allow our people to develop solutions to Climate Change issues.
