No need to talk about Cavi as a player, we all know he’s a legend. As a coach, he’s good and has done a decent job. Also, it’s not hard to improve what Kouman did. We might argue that Laporta was unfair etc, but in the end he got it right. Laporta is highly intelligent, if this was another coach I read of Xavi he would have been gone a long time ago. Now I think we will have a coach in Flick that can rival any world class coach we see today. Hopefully we can see rehearsed drills, game plans and tactics on the field. I’m Very happy with the appointment of Flick, this guy is merciless. I can see. At a winning by 4 or 5 goals under him, no longer do we have to suffer humiliation against PSG etc or go down to Europa league.

I understand they have talented players but if they can sell some of the players with heavy salaries and invest in a new set of players...I mean they can go to Germany...and buy those young, strong and tall players.....groom them and in one or two years...they may click as a team...see what Leverkusen did this season. It's so simple...enough of buying those big name players...considering the financial situation of the club. My 2cents.

Horrible move by Laporta and the board - just goes to show their only interest is financial and not for long term progress. Flick needs to prove himself and this team will need 1-2 seasons to get use to his tactics. Yes he was successful with Bayern but the players that were with him at the time showed much more pace than what this current Barca squad has. Time will tell but i'm not so optimistic.

My take is that laporta had set to sack xavi a long time ago.Thats why flick wasnt accepting other offers.I think they with or without knowledge of xavi(who has been self sacrificing for barcelona) wanted stability to finish second place.As soon as we got the second place xavi was sacked.Maybe xavi knew or he didnt know.Anyways I ask this from barcelona fans, whatever happens alawys support the coach.We didnt treat xavi well and slaughterd him after one poor season.We are in crisis and we have to do our part as fans

You people should understand that every coach and what he brings to the table. Hansi Flick doesn't need a single DM, he uses two pivots. His formation will be 4-2-3-1 not that fragile and boring 4-3-3. So what Xavi wanted is not what Hansi Flick needs. Its different.

Happy Xavi will not stay, he is too inexperienced a coach and fresh out of ideas to take our team to the next level.

Xavi should have never said he wanted to leave in the first place, it’s a matter of discipline and dedication you have and need to commit to no matter how the season is going, at the end you can’t just change your mind and want to stay. I don’t blame Xavi but a new coach is needed after he said he wanted to leave.

Very hopeful news ... I don't understand what happened to Xavi except that I could never figure out his tactical strategies -- certainly no beautiful football even when he won La Liga. His handling of Roque is a mystery. I also think the team needs to have better medical and training staff with a better emphasis on strength -- there have been too many injuries under Xavi.
