This movie rules. It doesn't get nearly enough credit for being a visual trendsetter. I think it's overlooked in favor of The Matrix, but Blade had just as much influence.

Much like Eric, I am a huge fan of "in the near future" type shit in a movie, especially movies from a long time ago that had no conception of what the near future would actually be like.

The sequel tv series of Blade (Starring rapper Sticky Fingaz) was underrated, ahead of its time and ahead of trends in many ways. It pre-empted the vampire boom of the mid-late 2000s.

One moment of idiocy not mentioned in this pod... when he sets up Joshua to play itself in the Tic-Tac-Toe finale, David types "ZERO" rather than the numeral "0" for number of players. By the way, there was a novelization of this movie (oh yes, that was a thing in the 80s) with a lengthier scene of figuring out the login (or "logon" as it's called in this movie). They think of "Joshua" pretty quickly, and it doesn't work. But it's Jennifer that looks through an article and suggests "Joshua5," since Joshua was five years old when he died.

I love this movie! just had a tall glass of water and gave it a re-watch while attempting to sleep. Still as excellent as when my dad introduced me to it as a kid. Though a real Wag the Dog situation as well, which my girlfriend and I recently re-watched. Both films are much more frightening and less funny these days. Can't wait to hear you guys change that! Stay safe everybody, don't forget to wear the blue!

I disagree with most of your comments about Deadpool 3 but I agree it looks REALLY cheap. Especially in the 3rd act when they are outside.

It's OK to like a movie! I just couldn't shake that cheapness and the action that felt like a sidescroller video game. The two leads are charming and it does have funny moments. - Eric

I think the real issue is that Star Wars fans have always thought of Boba Fett as more of a badass than he ever was, so when he finally got his own series by popular demand they had no idea what to do with him because he's not an interesting enough character to carry a whole series.
