Got my first VHS video camera in '89. Did a lot of filming at Banbury, Oxford, Rreading and Basingstoke amongst other places. Summers of 89, 90 and 91 were all brilliant .Three great summers in a row, I was out with the camera every hour I could spare. Soon realised I needed a tripod. Would set it up out of everyones way at the end of a platform and no one bothered me in those good old B.R. days. In 1992 upgraded to S-VHS and the summers returned to UK normal. Mostly decidedly dreary but I still got plenty of footage. Gave up on the contemporary scene after Voyagers took over from hauled stock on cross-country services. Now only do heritage railways and sometimes watch the modern rather soulless railway on Railcam UK. Will look out for any more vids you post from the early 90's.

@davidhartwell4826 What a great comment, thanks! I hope you still have your films from those days, and maybe you can post them one day? There was certainly plenty of interest around at that time, much more variety than there is now. I still have a few more videos from the 1990s to post when they are ready, plus a few from my trips to mainland Europe at that time. I also sometimes post present day videos as well.

@@JimH24 it dose seem like a cool little train/tram thing. tho it could go between a load of towns/ villages that are in the middle of nowhere. like yes ik bus would be better. but still it would help link smaller towns/villages together or to bigger towns/city's with better roots allowing for better public transport, and given it size i doubt it would take much electric to run. so it could easily be solar powered. :)

The parcels train being hauled by the railfreight 47 is explained, as most railfreight 47/4s were transferred to RES by June 1991. 47401 was the exception, remaining a railfreight loco. And what about the smokey HST departure?!

Absolutely fantastic video, thanks so much for this and others recently. Love the mammoth presumably ECS move at 08:24 Just curious - I don't see many shots of multiple units - did you generally not record these movements at the time because they weren't interesting? 310s all gone now and 321s not long to go either.
