I would just cut off about 1/2 of that stem. Please folks put gloves on as you don’t want to take up the hormones and other chemicals. And never stick anything into your hormone as you will contaminate it with viruses, fungi, bacteria, etc.

Pineapple and Vanda two different plant families. Pineapple aren’t orchids.

That’s a very sick plant, it may well end up making your plants sick. Throw it away. By the time you cut all the rot away on the leaves, nothing left. I wouldn’t have such a sick plant around my healthy plants. You can’t cure viruses and it will spread by air, thrips, fungus gnats. Why do these folks never show us the “save” in progressive steps or the final results? It already has a good root system, and the leaves ie new growth come from top of the plant. And the new roots come from between the leaves. It has lost leaves cause the plant is too dry, too diseases or not fed well. Probably why it was thrown in the trash.

Do you add lime to your potting mix? You used to use High Yield african violet fertilizer. Can you tell me what you use now? Thank you for your videos./

This video is really stupid. I have watched her spray the plant with some kind of insect spray for several minutes. She never shows what insecticide she is using. Watching this video is a total waste of time.

What do you do there a root growing through the part on the stem? That part is tight on the stem.

20:28 This video was very helpful I’m working with first orchid. It’s having problems. I repotted it the center new leaf is splitting and I’ve lost a leaf and maybe losing another one there is only two leaves left and one is splitting.
