Personally, I haven't had any issues with my motor, I'm not aware of any known issues apart from seeping oil near the heads, which mine does. I think you should really enjoy these bikes before considering the big bore kits, as there are better bikes to be had for the money. As for long term use I've had my big bore kit installed for nearly two years and it's still going fantastic.

I just finished my gt650 project, went yss fully adjustables front and rear, I drilled the damper rods so the emulators work properly in the front, s&s 865 kit and cam and the Barnett clutch, which does seem to slip when throttling on to over take especially in 5/6th, went with powertronic and legends at revelry sent me a map that went in and bike is running great, I also did the rstech belt conversion which gives it a little more legs on the highway have got to 190km before I started to run out of road 😅the sc project pipes sound awesome too. I haven’t really had any dramas with braking since I got rid of the original pads, but I love how it rides now, have you dyno tuned it? Would be cool to see how much of a difference the heads and throttle body make, they’re a bit out of my price range at the moment but maybe in a couple years!

I had issue's with my clutch after my build it turned out one of the steel plate had wrapped. I didn't do the throttle body's as i wanted to keep the bike looking stock as i was meant to sit my license with it. (lol i was dreaming) I am picking up my 415cc Himalayan soon to get my license sorted.I plan to buy the 950cc crate motor of Reverly once i start needing more power. Its a lot of money to spend on a bike but its worth every cent as its the most "fun" motor vehicle i have owned or driven and i have owned some very high powered cars. Very few if any of the 743cc (mine) or the more common 863cc ("865") builders show the machine shop work to install the larger liners and pistons (83.5mm and 90mm). People need to understand that the S&S big-bore kits are NOT "bolt-in". My INT750 has 14,000 miles on the S&S cam and Weisco pistons and 41,000 miles on the bike so far. Yes, both bikes are fantastic, I have installed a quick action throttle on my Interceptor now, and the performance is getting close to my old man's T120 Triumph. The T120 is still a more powerful bike, but having access to full throttle on my bike has made the gap much closer now. It would be unfair to compare a modified 865cc Interceptor to a stock T100 Triumph as I'm sure my 865 would smoke a stock T100. I could be wrong as I haven't had a ride on a T100. No I haven't had a ride on the T100, I would like too. I'm also a big fan of Triumph's. I ride my old man's T120 and is a far better bike than my Interceptor. But it fails to do one thing.... It doesn't put a massive smile on my face like the Interceptor does. It's still a lot of fun to ride and the T120 is a stock standard bike and some mods to it would change that (most likely) Both brands of bikes are very good in what they offer. My point here is we all get caught up which bike's has more power, which one go around a corner faster...etc..and I'm guilty of that myself but at the end of the day it's about enjoying the ride and the machine and that's why in the near future I'll be upgrading from the 865(Big smile) to the 950(Even bigger smiles). There was a few reason's i did the upgrades with the Interceptor. 1 to try the keep up with dads bike. 2 to over take cars safely. 3 When i get my full license I'll would have gone from a 650 to 1200 (T120) so the 865 is the half way point. I bought an GN250 to do the test for the next step for my motorcycle license, Its the biggest piece of sh@t but for some reason i love riding it so go figure LOL.

I learnt on an Interceptor, had it a couple of months and then went on a 9hr trip to New Plymouth for a couple of weeks holiday, had fun on the back roads around Taranaki. Think I would have been bored shitless on a smaller bike, not sure I would have wanted to go on holiday on a small bike. Some of the best guys I follow on here are the guys that just ramble on about nothing in particular, good shit, don't worry about it. have you rambled on about what happened to the 865

Yes my Interceptor is also my first bike, A great bike to learn on and i absolutely love riding it. The Suzuki GN250 on the other hand... the reason i like riding that thing is its really bad on the open road, It does 100kph no worries just not as "well planted" as the Interceptor. The Gn250 was never intended to be a open road warrior and its more suited for in town riding. I am going to change the GN250 to a Cafe racer, make it light as possible and do a best time though Waipoua Kauri Forest.
