I didn't have a light on me at the time unfortunately. There is a worm gear that spins on the center. What I was pointing to is a nut at the end of that worm gear where you can turn it just a hair to loosen the gear. If the step is acting as if it wants to open it's most likely not the motor. Once opened you can give it some lubrication and it'll come free. One thing I didn't mention is when shutting/closing the step don't hold the button until it "binds" tight or you hear the motor torque tight. One it's cleared the opening just let go of the button. I noticed the motor/mechanism will torque itself too tight if you don't let go of the button. There's no "cut off " switch for the step.

Well let me see if I can elaborate. Road course racing continues even in rain. So if it rains I just shut the deck lid. Only use it in the winter and road course. Summer it's all open....unless it rains. I also have a Porsche style fan housing and a remote oil cooler in the front on a 180 degree thermostatically controlled switch!

Oh never mind… I found out that you can twist the main component from the back end and use something really thin to release the two tabs. It looks like the issue with my button is the silver insert like your second video. The silver insert has two tabs that need to click into the dial. Mine wasn’t installed in the right orientation so the silver insert was warped… Thanks for your video! It’s funny I actually watched it before installing this brake controller so I knew it could be a potential problem haha.

@@johnd6258 or RLR. Modified strut front end. Old company called Chassis Works. Rear has been modified to RLR Ladder bar

@@68dragbug I ask because I picked up my first bug. A 63. The body and pan is separated, blasted and primed. Surprisingly no rust and all good metal. I’m attempting to start a full pa drag chassis. With COVID happening and the bug-in type events cancelled, getting good accurate advice is sketchy. At this point, I was leaning towards a loaded Airkewld front. I’ll have to check out RLR again to see if it fits my budget. I love watching this video BTW. Thank you!
