Tips for Henbane River (or Whitetail mountains) : 1) Quit disrespecting Nick Rye this instant, he's so darn useful for missions of the "I see vehicles and I don't want to" style, such as the Revelator (too bad the peggies made it BULLET proof but not BLAST proof), the armed convoys and such. 2) Shovels are the strongest melee weapons in the game, being able to kill lots of enemies, such as heavies/pyros or light to medium sized animals with a single thrown shovel. 3) The 45/70 (and it's 45/70T variant) is a very powerful weapon, being able to one tap above the hips and pierce through vehicle parts like a 50CAL, but uses AR ammo instead of 50 CAL, making it a cheaper but no less efficient sniper. Plus, it can be fitted with a ranger scope or a red dot sight. It's two downsides are the low capacity and the fact it must be reloaded like a shotgun. 4) using one of the two bows to kill an animal double the things you loot off their corpses. This can be used with harvest master to gain 4 skins from one animal instead of 1 or 2 (if you skin a prey animal, you'll get double the bait meat).
@AbsolutelyPuzzled
@AbsolutelyPuzzled 17 күн бұрын
I genuinely had no idea that Nick Rye was such a well-loved character. I posted that clip standalone because I thought it was one of the funniest ones. The only guns for hire we used in the entire game was B E E S E C H U R G E R 🐻 This was my third playthrough, you already know I had the 18 melee shovels plus the shovel launcher wombo combo equipped ASAP 😂 I think my sister might have used the 45/70 for a bit; we were kinda just using whatever. The bow trick is pretty handy; we just hunted and played stealthy so rarely that I couldn't justify giving it an inventory slot this time. Thanks for checking out the video, stay tuned for the second half soonish....

No commentary = dislike.
@AbsolutelyPuzzled
@AbsolutelyPuzzled 18 күн бұрын
Walkthroughs generally don't have commentary; that's pretty much just reserved for "let's play" and "funny moments" style content. Also, now if someone needs 4k 60fps footage of this game for a project, they can just use mine without my voice ruining the game audio. I put "No Commentary" in the title so I wouldn't mislead anyone as to what type of video this is. Disliking a video for being exactly like the title of the video you clicked on would be like walking into a Taco Bell and getting upset you can't order a Big Mac.

Even if I've only played Old Sins once and it doesn't carry any nostalgia, it's still an extremely solid puzzle game, and, to me at least, has the most easily comprehended story of the series. I'd forgotten until I saw this. 😊(To be fair, I haven't played the VR one, but I wouldn't think it has a clearer story.) Thank you again for these walkthroughs. I'm glad someone else enjoys the Rooms as much as (and probably more than) I have!❤
@AbsolutelyPuzzled
@AbsolutelyPuzzled 24 күн бұрын
I think most people (myself included) prefer the trilogy storyline over Old Sins', but yeah, they told the story very well this time. They always put the books in plain sight and limited the amount of books so that even someone who didn't really care would probably still open them. Also the couple of animations they threw in helped a lot. Thanks for checking out the videos! Unfortunately, I won't be making a walkthrough for The Room VR: A Dark Matter, but let me know if you have any games you'd like to see on the channel. 😄
@sarahwallace

@@AbsolutelyPuzzled I don't really have an interest in Dark Matter anyways.😅 My favorite puzzle games, along with the Rooms, are the Portals (Portal and Portal 2) a bit cliched, yes, but so good! ❤ A lesser-known puzzle game that I still thoroughly enjoyed is Return of the Obra Dinn. Those are really the only puzzle game recommendations I have.😊 Honestly, even if not for a video, I'd recommend playing Portal and its sequel if you haven't already. They are so fun, entertaining, and hilarious. (Portal 2 might honestly be my favorite puzzle game ever.)

I've heard of Return of the Obra Dinn, I'll have to look it up. Maybe I'll give it a shot though...

This brought back so many memories... one being that the first time I played it, I found the combination at 1:22:38 completely by accident (without having found the casting first.🤣) Another was that while trying to find the ancient artifacts to get the other endings, I accidentally went through the Null teleportation door and had to do the puzzle all over again just for the Imprisonment ending... again.😭After that, I was *so* paranoid around that door, like I would double check to make sure I wasn't anywhere near it before double tapping.😂 Thanks so much for the video! I had a blast going down memory lane.❤ P.S. Just some food for thought... why is there such a vast difference in the letters for the Escape and the Release endings when the cutscenes are almost identical? 🤔That's something I've never really been able to understand... although I really haven't pondered it that much.
@AbsolutelyPuzzled
@AbsolutelyPuzzled 26 күн бұрын
I did the same thing pretty much; I messed up the “Lost” ending the first time because I didn’t figure out I needed to use the screwdriver (I just used the two artifacts). 🤣 This is the way I interpret the difference between the Escape and Release endings: In “Escape” Grey Holm is destroyed, but the Null is contained. The protagonist can’t find any proof that Grey Holm or the Null actually existed, so they are relieved to be able to move on with their life. In “Release” Grey Holm is also destroyed, but the Null is unleashed onto Earth. The protagonist ends up in some sort of asylum and writes to the Craftsman for help.

I'm glad you got a kick out of it! I realize making fun of a game that's legally allowed to drink is low hanging fruit, which I think is why we see a lot of this "rose-tinted glasses" mentality within the community. It's not fair to criticize the games by modern standards, but why not do it anyway? It's fun to laugh at what we used to have to put up with as kids, and to appreciate how far games have come since. As for recommendations, I'm all ears. I might not get to them immediately, but I'll definitely add them to my list, Nancy Drew games or otherwise.

Nice tribute to the talented map makers in the Far Cry Community! It's quite unfortunate that Ubisoft doesn't seem interested in (re)using this UGC in a final Dunia-based Far Cry Editor farewell game. If you think about the direction of virtual online spaces heading towards a metaverse, having thousands of these user-generated worlds could be an easy way to create some Far Cry based meta worlds for people to mix. :)

Yeah, why not Cyan Worlds themselves? They could use a win these days... I doubt anything like that will happen though, based on Fireproof's social media posts, it seems like they value complete creative freedom above all else. It's an interesting idea nonetheless.
@bdletoast09
@bdletoast09 6 ай бұрын
@@AbsolutelyPuzzled I respect a company that wishes to keep a firm hand on their intellectual property, but Fireproof is a really small studio, and I fear they'll never be able to extend the formula beyond what they already did. The let down of the VR game kind proved that they reach the limits to where they can bring this franchise with their current means. The series is fairly popular and generally acclaimed as one of the best mobile puzzle game, or even puzzle game in recent years. With the interesting world building it has, I really feel that they could try to go for something bigger with a bit of help from a slightly bigger studio.

I'm stil confused by the "Lost" Ending. Can you explain it a little more?
@AbsolutelyPuzzled
@AbsolutelyPuzzled 6 ай бұрын
The "Lost" ending is the hardest ending to get, but it actually provides the least amount of closure to the player. That's not to say that having your soul trapped for eternity to be used as a battery (Imprisoned ending) or possibly bringing about the end of the world (Release ending) is a "good" ending, but they are at least a bit more conclusive. The "Escape" ending is the only one that seems to be a happy ending, as walking away from the Null in this universe appears to be the only way to not suffer a terrible fate. The "Lost" ending is...very vague. The protagonist is completely alone on the alien planet that the most dangerous substance known to mankind originates from. Will he meet a gruesome death the second he walks through that temple door? Maybe. Will he find a way to stop the Null's influence on earth for good? Maybe. Did the developers write themselves into a corner, so we'll never find out? Probably.
