So cool! I have a project with similar requests. Are there any updated AI functionalities post 2021? Would you be interested in assisting me with this project?

Sure, I'd be happy to help.

I love this and plan on copying it somewhat. I want to have my phone work as a toy for my kids but have an operator ask if they want to talk to a scientist, or historian or ask questions. Then give GPT the prompts to interact a certain way. Do you have any other docs that you recommend that would help me. I am still somewhat of a beginner on coding but have found some okay resources.

Thank you! I'd just read the code and also the RFCs of the used protocols: SDP, RTP

Interesting project. I will try to build it. Are the ht801 and the Pi with your code the only things. I read somewhere that the ht801 needs to be registered to a pbx, ie asterix. Could you share the configuration of the ht801? Thanks for your video
@tczhu8 ай бұрын
There's configuration info on Github, please open an issue if you get stuck! No need for PBX.

Hi, very interesting video. Would it be possible to get a diagram of the wiring between the rotary phone and the rj11 plug of the HT801 ? Would be interested in building something with my old phones. I would like to integrate the phone into a rhasspy 3 based personal assistant.

The original article has a photo of the soldering, not sure how helpful it is: tcz.medium.com/how-i-turned-my-old-rotary-phone-into-a-virtual-assistant-24f35ca9884f

Amazing job! I can't wait to build this. This is my first raspberry pi project. how do I install your code on the pi? Where do I enter in my API keys? Also, have you looked at Open AI's built in voice assistant? How can I integrate this into a phone?

You'll find all the answers on Github, please open an issue if you get stuck!

You should show it without cuts
@tczhu Жыл бұрын
The first interaction is without any cut to show the real speed. The rest are edited slightly so that the video is more fluid but you can see the timestamps on the terminal for each.

If you already use a rotary phone, it would be nice if you could make use it's dial for some functionality.
@tczhu Жыл бұрын
I'd definitely love to make this happen. Will need to see if pulse dialing gets sent through SIP at all. Will investigate.

In Barcelona it should speak Catalan! I wonder how that sounds with a German accent 😄

Awesome project and video, congrats! Tried to run it myself with my rotary phone and grandstream 801 but audio gets cut off when picking off the phone and also generated audio is downloaded, put on queue but not played.

How do you access the TV controls? is there a library for that?
@tczhu Жыл бұрын
Basically yes. Tízen Websocket API. It's very poorly documented but there are python libraries available. Check github for what I did. As for controlling Netflix, it's done through app deep linking and it's absolutely not documented at all, it's really trial and error.
