FYI you only find Cham ruins in Central Vietnam because that land used to belong to the kingdom of Champa . That ancient kingdom stretched from Quang Binh province to Ninh Thuân province . You can find ancient Cham temples in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) and Ninh Thuân as well . The Red River delta was actually the cradle of the Vietnamese Kinh people , the majority ethnic group in Vietnam . The meal you got there is called Com Bao Câp which means the Frugal Meal During The Food Restriction Time a long period of food shortage in VN caused by the war and the American embargo after the war .

Glad you enjoyed the video. For sure. I’ll try to keep them coming. So far I’ve experienced a spectrum of English speaking abilities, but most seem eager to practice with you. Overall less English than Thailand, but I’d say they are more interested in connecting with you if you are patient, talk a bit slower, and are kind to them. Most seem ready to pull out google translate to have communication as well. So far only day three for me, so I will keep you posted.
