I appreciated that you took the effort to create this. I received the device as a gift. I hike and kayak on rivers. What your video lacked for me, a beginner, was an overview of what the device can do, simple definitions of key terms, and simple step-by-step actions related to a common task. Example: I want to go a hike and be able to return home. Before diving into the details, give me a simple breakdown of the steps I need to do the the eTrex to accomplish that. Then dive into the details. An overview of each of the opening screen menu items would also be really helpful. Trying to be constructive...

Instructors already have a stepping-stone to implement elaborative interrogation: Asking "Questions?" after a discussion. I do agree that we just need to take it a step forward by highly encouraging students to question concepts in the material

How well would this little unit work if say I marked a dock as a way point and went 15 miles out on the ocean (Atlantic, I live in Florida) and needed to use it as an emergency navigation tool to get back to that same dock?

I wish all the professors took this kind of initiative. Unfortunately according to administration the professor has leeway to do whatever they see fit. English Major due to graduate Fall 2020.
