I stop. You have a deep feeling in your playing. Thank you for filming and sharing this! I am a pianist too, and I'm trying to master all the piano sonatas Mozart wrote. It's not easy. I'm feeling your touch. It's soft and airy. Just as it should be. Harmonic and not too heavy. Your instrument is also absolutely awesome. Impressive.

Hey... it’s me.. leaving a comment on this video now )) ok.,so this is epic playing⭐❤🔥but that's obvious... that's also why I have another quick question again if that’s ok. {It was the first video of yours I ever watched btw}. The intro of this piece reminds me of Schumann’s Etude after Paganini Caprices Op. 3 No. 1, which I absolutely love, and it got me thinking about something. I just started learning this Schumann etude, but I also really like Chopin’s Etude Op. 10 No. 4. Both are super highEnergy, intense pieces that I really enjoy. For me, Chopin’s etude seems harder, but I haven’t actually played it yet (just looking at the score). I’m starting with Schumann, and looking at the sheet music, I can see how tricky it can get, but I still wanted to ask.. which one do you think would be more comfortable to play for you? I know everyone knows Chopin’s etude, but I’m curious about your thoughts on Schumann’s, especially since I’m totally obsessed with it. Do you think Schumann’s 3 no 1 feels more faithful to Paganini’s original caprices? I think so, and I prefer it over Liszt’s or Brahms even btw So yeah, that’s my (a bit chaotic) general question... hmm.. thank you)) p.s. Maybe check out the version by Jinsang Lee too, if you get the time please would love to know what you think )
@scherzotv10 күн бұрын
Are you a violin player as well? The thing about the Paganini Caprices is that they are a tour de force of supreme violin techniques. However, the spirit does not translate as well onto the piano if they are faithfully transcribed. In that regard, I personally believe Liszt does a better job at keeping up with the essence of those pieces. Brahms' Op.35 is a completely different beast all together... Both artistically and technically, I hesitate to put Schumann's Op.3 No.1 at the same level as Chopin's Op. 10 No. 4. However, your teacher would be the person who knows best which one benefits you more at your current level. 🎼
@musicem73410 күн бұрын
@@scherzotv Yes I also play the violin. I respect your approach and understand what you mean..many people I’ve asked feel the same way. That said, I still prefer Schumann’s versions. I was just curious about your thoughts. )
@scherzotv3 күн бұрын
I'm usually of the opinion that transcriptions should be faithful - for example I prefer Brahms' transcription of the Chaconne over Busoni's. I can certainly understand where you come from, especially given that you probably learned the Caprices first. But hey, we have Chopin's original etudes don't we 😊

Amazing content, really impressive! I think this has the potential for a much larger audience. It might be the first 5 minutes, where you lose many viewers that would have stayed once they heard you playing and even more when they heard you improvising. So maybe next time start with this to get the viewers hooked, then they will also stay and listen to the background story (which you might want to present a bit more condensed though).

Very interesting! I like the A major part you came up with, very nice melody. The C major and third pass of the main theme had a lot of Liszt going on ;)

I guess both of them do jumps but Liszt jumps higher?😅
@piokul17 күн бұрын
@scherzotv Not sure :) I guess Liszt jumps are more unnecessary and therefore playful, and Chopin jumps blend in more because they are more tied into the emotion present in the piece?
@piokul17 күн бұрын
Or the Liszt feeling is because of the characteristic more than octave jumps in the highest register.

hmm....one more thing if thats ok I’d like to write about. It’s not related to this piece, but there’s something I’d like to share with you. You see, there are many pieces we love..that’s obvious. But today, for example, I was thinking about playing some Chopin {andIDid} . A very specific piece. Maybe a little less wellKnown, but still one of my favorites and incredibly beautiful. I’m talking about Chopin’s etude, Nouvelle etude No. 1 in F minor. The thing is, I adore this piece, but only Valentina Lisitsa’s performance\interpretation. I’d love, if ull find some time maybe for you to check out this performance. I’ll add that, as far as I’ve found, maybe two other people play it somewhat similarly, but the rest interpret this etude completely differently. I think it’s incredibly beautiful, and I’d like to ask what you think of her interpretation compared to others. I decided to bring it up because I was just thinking about this piece and decided to write. Merciii )))

Hey thanks for bringing that piece up! I can't believe I've never paid attention to those three... They are literally in the same book as my beloved 24 lol. Valentina of course rendered the piece beautifully. My own idea is yet different, but the great thing about art is that there's enough room for all of us :-) Now that you've sold me that piece, I'll have to do it soon!

Could you maybe elaborate? I don't think it's necessary to give repeats their own sections.
@mrsnooz18 ай бұрын
@@scherzotv i mean the piece s form is called “rounded binary” where its basically ||:a:||:b:||, where b’s end includes a small recap of a.
@scherzotv8 ай бұрын
@@mrsnooz1 lol!!! I never thought someone would go even further in terms of reduction! Of course, the differences between A and A' are minute and we can consider them practically the same😂
@mrsnooz18 ай бұрын
@@scherzotv its not about that, its about the fact how the repetition works. Even though the recap is the same as beginning, it is combined within the b part when repeating, as if they were one big thing.
@scherzotv8 ай бұрын
@@mrsnooz1 ok, so your idea is |a|x| where x=(ba). I can certainly agree with that, though does that significantly alter the way we see the piece?
