I have a squirrel "Family"I found 1 then one more stopped by & so forth. They really become family! Recently, a fuly black squirrel was sitting by my front door .He is really shy, afraid...the others are not fond of him .I found a little info , They apparently are rare? As they come as a mutation off of grey's please post future info if U find any. Love the content! Greetings from The" Ferris family"!🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🤓

Toby, Your Canon 7D has a crop factor of 1.6, which means you are actually using an equivalent focal length of 480mm, which is quite a lot!! In Zak's case the same, except the D5100 has a factor of 1.5, Cheers

Yes this is true, a benefit for the wildlife round, but wait till round two...

Do all sigma lens need calibrating ? I've heard it can be a real stuff around. I couldn't be bothered with it. Give me something that works properly the first time. Not a smart ass comment, it's a genuine concern as I would like a 150-600 but I don't want to be messing around with it.
@TobyWoodPhoto4 күн бұрын
I don't think so, I've never calibrated mine and it's had sharp focus from the beginning, and this is the same with my friends as well. I think the calibration is designed for people with specific needs but it isn't necessary

Nice review!!! I've been pondering getting this lens for my hiking photography and seeing it properly in action has made up my mind!

Sadly this thing has a terrible reputation when being used on Canon R cameras.

Really? I was going to get it for the R100 :(

I agree with the fancy comment. However, customised focused points make this lens focus quicker. It's worth a look 👀 📷

I find your comment about stabilisation mode 2 (around 8:23) a bit confusing. This mode allows it to keep horizontal movements smooth BECAUSE it doesn't bother with stabilisation of horizontal movements, right? Only the vertical, up and down, movements are stabilised Because otherwise it will try to correct your horizontal panning and you will get jolty movements. EDIT: like the video btw. Very informative and easy to grasp. Tells me everything I need to know and I have put it on my wishlist.
@TobyWoodPhoto6 күн бұрын
Yes that right, it allows you to pan the movement horizontally as it levels the up and down shake :) and thank you!

Nice overview of the lens, Toby. One of the biggest issues that some folks have with the Sports version of the lens is that it is significantly heavier than the Contemporary, coming in at 2860 g (over 1000 g heavier) which, according to one of my friends, makes it extremely difficult to handhold and/or carry about for long periods of time.

Hi, great video. I've just purchased a 2018 Smart Forfour Prime petrol in automatic, but I do pay road tax (£120 a year). I wonder why yours is exempt and mine is not, anyone know?
@TobyWoodPhoto11 күн бұрын
It is to do with the date it was made. I believe it is any car before March of 2017 is exempt from the tax. Mine was made in early 2017 so this may be why I don't have to but you unfortunately do. Equally you have a newer model of the car so it is probably worth it!

@TobyWoodPhoto15 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes I often film the intros to my videos and other videos with this camera. My introduction to the last video for example was filmed on this lens. Also the majority of my car camping adventures were filmed on this lens. I don't find myself filming wildlife that often however this is the camera I would use as well because of its lightweight and high quality footage

i recenty bought one,far from being a pro ,bought cannon t7 awhile ago,i am impressed with it.taken shots 30-40 yards away of squirrels running on wires,you can clearly see droplets off its back and on nearby cedar leaves ,and falling rain.handheld,and clearly make out eye in sports mode [multi shot],moon shots decent but loses a little detail of craters,not much to see city area.rarely get chromatic distortion even shooting top branches of large trees,winter shots [no leaves grey background],none when sunny.just ordered 55-250 is,after yours and other reviews,for the versatility.

The conclusion is that the 75-300mm lens with costs 249€ don't worth to buy it because the photos don't be sharped and focused!

There is no advantage of taking picture with a zoom with no stabilization i mean a 300 its super shaky there is no way that you can take good picture with that thing.

Loved your enthusiasm in this video. The balance between photography and religion was tipped a bit too far towards religion imo. Not my cup of tea...but it's also not my channel ;) so you do you. Props to you for going out with the tripod, it's important to change things up every now and then. Sad that you couldn't capture that much today.
@TobyWoodPhoto24 күн бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! I've noted the balance and on this day it was weighing on my heart to share my thoughts. Photography and adventure will always be the main focus though. I agree the wildlife was limited but a Dartford Warbler! Quality not quantity this time :)
@De_Conducteur24 күн бұрын
@TobyWoodPhotoAll good. It's your channel and voice. So if something weighs on you, share it! Whether it's a car review, wildlife photography or a whole sermon ha. As long as there is enough photography you won't hear me whinge. And agreed that the Dartford warbler is a good find. I'd rather have 2 exciting photos than 10 disappointing ones!

Ah seriously Toby, this is NOT a great photography blog, the sound is shockingly bad and the photography is so bad and more about the bible. So for the negative comments, but this is just so bad unfortunately.
@TobyWoodPhoto24 күн бұрын
I'm sorry you felt this way. Which part of the audio was bad so I can try and improve it for next time?
@DustinSharp-r1e22 күн бұрын
I guess it just goes to show; everybody has their own taste. I quite enjoyed the video. I'm not christian, but the bible stuff didn't bother me a bit. I'm fairly new to photography (About two years in so far) and I just enjoyed watching someone else excited about taking photos. Keep up the good work. Can't please everyone and thats perfectly okay! If everyone only liked the same stuff, the world would be boring.

Hi Toby,,can you tell me,when you are in AF on the lens,can you turn the focus wheel or do you need to be in MO or MF on the lens,my concern is if the AF switch is engaged and I turn the focus wheel it might cause damage,any help much appreciated.
@TobyWoodPhoto25 күн бұрын
I would not advise turning the focus wheel when it is in AF. The MO is specifically designed for both though allowing you to manual or auto focus. I can't say it damages the lens however, mine works fine and I've done it a few times by accident, but I'd avoid it if possible. Hope this helps!

I have been using it for more than an year now. I feel the low light performance of 250D is not good. You can always see the noise during processing. But I am satisfied with the other features.
