@Donna.Buckingham28 күн бұрын
Yes we leave them inside, most of the time with the windows open and fly screens closed. They have never attempted to get through the screens. But if you are worried you could leave the roof windows open.

could have done with a foot on every dimension you used, you will run the van into the door or the back wall at some point so it might be worth doing some remedial work first
@Donna.BuckinghamАй бұрын
For sure!!! A few extra metres all round will make everyone happier - the bank account is the problem 🤑
@se9225Ай бұрын
I'd place some foam or rubber on the shed entrance. At least if you catch it, you are less likely to cause serious damage. Secondly, get a railway sleeper and place it behind the caravan wheels when your caravan is in. Mark their exact location. Drill through the two timber stops and the garage floor and use rebar or solid steel rods. That way, when your reverse, you cannot go further than your caravan wheel stops. Lastly (as an option) fit a cctv camera on each corner facing opposite directions so you have 360 degree camera viewing (adds caravan security) and place the viewer in/on your dash and internally on the caravan with any DVR if you want to record... cheaper options that a new door and widening the opening.
@davedixon2068Ай бұрын
@@Donna.Buckingham Agreed but you built the shed for the van seems like false economy, however if it was just a mistaken measurement then live with it for a time while you save up to make a couple of changes to make life easier

Thanks for your feedback, we did get the higher roller door to fit the van but yes we are cheapskates on the wrong side of life not being willing to spend a another $5k for ease of entry. My husband will agree to make it 3 metres wide each way for sure 🤪

@@Donna.Buckingham not if you don't live above your means. My partner and I had been together for eleven years, childfree. We shared household expenses, but without the added costs of children, childcare, schooling, etc., we built a large savings and still had spending money after expenses are paid. We had a mutual split back in February, and while it has been an adjustment to not share expenses with someone, it's not harder than it was before.
