No idea how your video showed up on my feed, but interesting seeing Lake Pleasant and more particularly Victor from tiller and kites! Havent seen him in years since we got into sailing on one of his timeshare catalinas. Now we sail around on a Lagoon 440 catamaran. Cheers guys. Victor is nice people. Too nice. He won't let you leave with all his stories! ;)

Victor was so kind to us and we loved talking with him! Glad this video made it to you.

We had so much fun with this, I've been keeping Victor updated as well. I think we may try to return to AZ at some point next year with the finished boat.

Who is your square top sail made by? Does the boat perform differently with a square top sail vs the pin top sail?

Where is this vid taken? Nice conditions

This is off the Texas City Dike in Texas. 5 mile long strip of land where the wind typically blows from the south, over the top of the dike, and creates fast and calm conditions!!

Looking back again, some of the still photos I took of it sitting on the beach were taken at Somerville TX. The videos are all at the Texas City Dike.

That is awesome!! Not sure if you are in the US but come sail at the Hobie 20 Nationals in June 2024 in Fort Walton beach. We are new to sailing and racing but learned a ton there and it was a blast! Greg

Hobie 20s are great boats I’d highly recommend looking into getting a spinnaker setup for them they really go upwind and downwind if you get em dialled

Hi Greg, Chris from Sailing Events, if you would pass to Scott, I'll be at the October 14th Nacra Sailing test event for sure. Eventually, like to get a Nacra 17 if one becomes available, self tack Jin, spi pole, et.

Hi Greg, I'm local, Dickinson, I'd like to start getting into sailing. What is a good spot, day or so where I could see your club sailing at the Dike where I can meet up and learn how to get into sailing?
@gregcongdon9888 Жыл бұрын
Hi Dexter, follow TCDYC (Texas City Dike Yacht Club) on Facebook if you have it. We have a regatta at the dike on July 8-9. Would be a great time to have you out and can show you all kinds of boats.

Grew up fishing Galveston , my son is a guide as well good memories fishing the jetties. Got a taste of Rockport and Port Aransas….moved out that way. No comparison way better fishing and so pristine down here.
