How do you do the rope?
@LMC9728 күн бұрын
For this animation, the cable is just a super thin cylinder with the center of origin being right at the top where the helicopter is. That is why the cable never bends. I added some subtle swinging and turning animation manually with keyframes. I do plan to look into rigid ropes in the future. This tutorial looks promising. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pprKmHqalruVg80

I notice that that tardis didn't had the white bit on the bottom of it that spins when you put one finger on it and start spinning by the other hand. Plus the off and on switch but good model if i do say.
@LMC97Ай бұрын
Thanks. I left those features out since the bottom of the base wasn't meant to be seen...or at least be out of focus. I did notice the Rigid Bodies did land in a way that revealed their incomplete bases but since this model was for an April Fools joke, I had let it slide.

This TARDIS looks great! Its probably the best one ive been able to find online. Ive been wanting to build my own one for a few years now however i cannot find plans that either match a tardis used in the show or are not detailed enough to follow. If you could direct me to a pair of plans or even link the ones you used im sure that many other people would be incredibly grateful for your contribution. If not your TARDIS is definitely the best one i have seen and you did a great job building it!

Thank you for your kind words. As for plans, I'd recommend the TARDIS Builder forum. It contains plans and many TARDIS build diaries. Mine is on there to but there are many amazing TARDIS builds on there. Here's an index of TARDIS plans for roughly each TARDIS prop used on the show. tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=7902.0

Can the doctor make it out of the star before going supernova?
@LMC97Ай бұрын
The premise of this animation was at the time the TARDIS encountered the star going supernova, it was dealing with technical issues. I wouldn't think too much into it. It's just a fun little animation to make so it won't be lore and scientifically accurate. I was using this as way to learn more of the software used to make this.

How
@LMC973 ай бұрын
It's a trick done with compositing. Basically this is two scenes in one. The scene with the box and a scene with the interior. They are recorded with the exact same camera movement. The inside of the box has a material that I assigned as a mask. Then I was able to put the interior scene in its place. Essentially, it's like cutting a hole out of an image and putting something behind the hole to fill the gap.
