Very nice, almost like Italy with the narrow streets and buildings etc. minus the speeding cars!

Feeling fortunate to have taken this same trip In October 2023. Just us and the point all day long...was a special and unforgettable experience. I hope that others can still have the same experience, but unlikely with the new developments.

Yeah, it seems Disney is doing their best to preserve the area, but it certainly won’t be as special as it was before. It truly was amazing to be the only people on that beach. I don’t think that can ever happen again. Thank you for your comment, and glad that you got to experience the solitude as well.

Enjoyed the music, that was a nice touch! Even a little Aerosmith “walk this way” would work per Phil! He said he was at Bear Lake first week of May in 1982 playing rugby. It was 80° when they left Greeley, Bear Lake was 30° and snowing.

Yes - that was a fun surprise! And a beautiful elk (probably the nicest one we encountered all week). There are a lot of elk around Estes Park, but really most of them were wandering around the town and crossing the highways. Figured we would see them all over on the trails, but no. They're all in town!

in the late 1980s two of my best friend's fathers managed the hotel and bar/restaurant. We spent many weekends in my 13 foot Boston Whaler with a 55hp water skiing in the bay. I have a picture blown up I took a little way down the entrance down island hanging on my hall wall.

Dear God, this is not only a national treasure but also a global treasure. Your sweat, deodorant and suntan lotion has already degraded the pond, now imagine another 100 idiots doing the same. The seahorses here are one of a kind, not found anywhere else in the whole world. We Eleutheran have known about this pond for generations and have kept it a secret. We pressed for the Bahamas National a trust to oversee it as more and more tourists were doing exactly what you’re doing, ruining it. Please look, don’t go in and if anyone else views this video, take heed, the seahorses will die if this behavior continues. Shame on you for posting this video.

When are you heading back? I'll be there in November via Disney Cruise Line. Those views are amazing and the color of that water!!
@scottn52116 ай бұрын
No plans to head back anytime soon, but we will certainly return one day. It was an amazing island. I hope Disney's presence has a positive effect on the economy and infrastructure, without it losing it's charm. I can't wait to see videos of this beach from the Disney cruisers this year. Please post something when you go! Have fun, and enjoy! It really is the most beautiful beach we've ever seen.

I think your beach at Sapphire is better and there's no charge. Also try the beach down by the college . Super nice. I personally never liked Magens. I lived on St Thomas from 1974 to 2008. French Town has some nice restaurants and bars. Hope you got over to St John. That's really nice and beaches are the best. Very fun little trip.
@scottn52116 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tips. Not sure when we'll be back, but others will certainly find them useful. We did make it to St. John for a day trip and a tour of the island and beaches (from afar). Might put together a small video on that one, although I had a quality issue with my footage, so not sure if it's worth it. Thanks for watching!

@scottn52117 ай бұрын
Thank you! I've been casually making videos for years but recently decided to make some of them public. We've been to many islands and Eleuthera is a stand out, and will definitely return one day. The Disney project is really bringing the island into the spotlight lately, so I'm curious ( and slightly concerned) of how it may evolve in the coming years. But we're glad to have seen it last year. This seahorse refuge was pretty amazing in itself. Heading to St. Thomas & St. John on Wednesday this week, so more videos will come out of that!

What time of year did u go? Who did u weren't a car from & did u lock ur car doors? I've hear ppl say to just leave the car doors unlocked so ppl don't smash your windows?
@scottn52118 ай бұрын
Date was in the description - May 18, 2023. Rented a car from Turnquest Car Rentals, which was fine. There's no large corporate rental companies there. I don't think we locked the doors, but left nothing in the car. Island seemed very safe to us though. Locals were all very friendly. Hope this helps!
