Damn...I'm super late to the Lightning Collection only having started a few months ago and I enjoy re-watching your videos each time I add a new figure to my collection. Sucks that the line is over. I'd say "supposedly" over, but who am I kidding? Leaves me wondering how Playmates will handle them.

I was not expecting to hear the Jobbythehong transformation theme and when i heard it i just wanted to say "SWIVEL HEREEEE!!!!" and also a good video for our intrusive brain thoughts to have that off our chests.😂😂

I'm still mad at Hasbro's management of the line and can't trust them. That being said, this was informative and fun. (The management of the line was not his/their fault. Just a designer.) I am grateful for this behind the scenes knowledge. Thank you for getting this interview and posting this video.

Getting to this a few days late, but it was a great watch! Thank you Cory (and cat), and of course thank you too, Josh! Lots of lovely behind-the-scenes information and thoughts. Your admission to having been a major leaker was a fun moment, Cory addressed that in a well-measured manner. The early development of the line is fascinating. Cory has every right to be proud of the second MMPR Red helmet sculpt, it looks great (still need to get my hands on it, hopefully sometime next year). Mystic Force would've definitely been a cool team to see, though with Cory's talk about plastic vs. soft goods for capes, I suddenly had a vision of some Rangers having plastic capes and some having soft good capes - what's an LC team without inconsistencies, after all? His thoughts on the possibility of a revival were intriguing, certainly nice to hear that there's no outright "it's not returning" even if I'm not expecting it to happen (didn't Playmates confirm they'll be doing collector figures for PR at SDCC?). Finally, that Roboskull is one hell of a metal design!

If the Lightning Collection comes back, I hope after they remaster any MMPR figures left like Lord Zedd and the White Ranger, even remaster figures that fumbled in the past such as Zeo Blue, Time Force Red, Dino Thunder White, Lost Galaxy Yellow, and Dino Fury Green.

I've given up on the hope of hasbro continuing the Lightning Collection. I would love to see a third party company, like there is with Transformers and DragonBall, that fills in the missing members of the different Ranger teams. Maybe even make the teams Lightning Collection never touched. When Hasbro makes Power Rangers figures again, it's going to be brand new designs. I don't see them touching any of the old shows outside of MMPR because they don't want to pay Toei any licensing fees.

Watching this interview, I pulled the trigger and finally bought The Omega Rangers.

Good information. I miss the Lightning Collection. Rangers are cool, but I really wanted civilian clothes rangers, and supporting characters. At least I got the core SPD members.

But i do feel like if they see the traction that things like this is getting they will bring the lightning collection back. They can't be mad at the leaks because it isn't leaking a unseen design from like a movie. I just wish they did the movie suits.

Wish you asked him why did they apply the marvel legends logic and rules to power rangers. Power rangers are uniform and not like other heroes. I'd rather if they did something incorrect like silver when it should be white the whole team be silver instead of white. Now there's a void. They didn't even finish the helmets.

What's going on? What's happening with Lightning Collection?

Interesting how he describes his role as I previously thought those were the responsibilities of someone called a "Designer" in title. (Similar to how the other Hasbro brands will often have designers on live streams.) Also, interesting that Hasbro outsources nearly all of the sculpting work? Or at least they did for Lightning Collection. And this confirms that yes, they were indeed just looking at the internet for design resources (for some amount of time anyway). Who knows how well kept/consistent the Saban resources were. From how Cory described the workflow, it didn't sound like Hasbro had anyone overseeing that sort of quality control. So even with Saban's reference material, the designers/sculptors could very well still have been using the internet if they didn't get everything they needed (like from the older stuff as he mentioned). This is in no way to say I blame Cory, or any individual designer/sculptor. Again, like I said, Hasbro should have had someone in a position with knowledge of the franchise and could double check the accuracy and consistency of the designs. I know we'll never see it, but I'd be VERY interested to see what Saban cobbled together in terms of reference material. I wonder how much of it needs to be overhauled/corrected LOL. Thank you for your continued dedication to the line Josh. Love getting insights to how toy making/Hasbro works and this was a real treat.

American figures look SO BAD! So childish also. Jason practically looks like a t*****. with those red lips. Paintjob is terrible. Joints look terrible also. I know most American figures sell half the price of Japanese figures. But there's no reason to cut the quality so bad like that!
