I have always want to do megabuilds like these but never manage to due to my lazy ass (even with the power of MCedit), I super dig these dark and gothic builds especially when it literally tower over the skyline lik this, needless to say you inspired the heck out of my ass. By the way what kind of stone you used for the majority of the builds in Gothsburg?

Ima bout to start building a slightly smaller cathedral on a building server im on. I’m going to try to build some cross between the Lincoln Cathedral and The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in DC. Any tips on building since tools like fill commands and world edit aren’t an option?

How do you keep the hostile mobs at bay with such dimly lit buildings? Or do you play in peaceful?

do you think the restoration of notre dame takes away its authenticity?
@kxaifer2 күн бұрын
Not at all, prehaps some elements were rashly replaced like several stained glass panels but i think its important to note that the Notre Dame prior was largely heavily restored by Le Duc in the 1800s, and I think given how jarring it is now will eventually ease into modern perception over the centuries the cathedral stands

I love this style of video! It gives us insight in the details of a build of this stature in a calm and very clear way. Very impressive build!

I have an idea for the more modern aspects you were talking about. You should add a Walmart and a dollar general right in the middle, and remove everything to make way for a massive parking lot. (jokes aside, incredible work, it's amazing to see what someone can do with the necessary dedication and creative mind)

I beg for you to give some tips for building a massive structure such as this one, because me and a group of others are attempting to design a cathedral with a rough width of 240 and it would greatly help to know what works well and what doesn't.

5:21 You could try using the debug stick to fix that. You can get it through the /give command. It allows you to change the state of any blocks you want and should be able to fix your issue. It will probably take a while though. lol
@kxaifer9 күн бұрын
Looks like my best bet is just replacing the glass....manually😭
@riksuki90229 күн бұрын
@@kxaifer I think you might also be able to replace it with the /fill command. I found this out recently that you can select the block state via the /fill command, at least on 1.21.4. The way to go about it is somewhat like this: /fill (coordinate A) (coordinate B) Minecraft:(block you want to place)[(cardinal direction you want the glass to connect to)=true] Example: /fill 68 1 -117 68 12 -127 minecraft:red_stained_glass_pane[east=true] This results in the glass panes having a connection to the east despite there not being any blocks there to cause this. You could try this out on your cathedral to see if it works. If not, then I guess you'll either have to replace them manually or use some other program to help you, such as WorldEdit.

Could you maybe share some floor plans? sizing ratios whatever? i'm trying to build a cathedral myself similar in shape you Gothsburg only smaller but the floor plan keeps looking off so just looking at floor plans in minecraft. Hope I can experience Gothsburg myself in the game one day.
