Having weaved dozens of these chairs myself, this guy is a boss. It looks simple, and in theory it is a simple process, but to make it look this good takes a lot of skill. Benny is awesome. Awesome work.

Anyone know if Carl Hansen sells that little metal rope clamp 0:30 ? 😅 Also want to recognize the sweet workbench and accompanying ‘chair clamp’ keeping the chair solidly in place 🫶 need that setup in my life

Find your local Carl Hansen & Søn dealer, experience it for yourself.
BURRO!!!

I discovered Omar's architectural work through a New York Times article today. A common thread throughout his projects are the interesting stories and the people behind it. Thanks for sharing that night's presentation.

This was so captivating. Aspiring Newfoundland architect to be... thank you for the “mistakes” messages, I hear you. Gaining knowledge from hands on experience with materials and transport of materials. Landscape surprises. I feel like my brain is going to explode right now. There are so many bombs of architect knowledge in this. I... am... going... to go to Fogo Island. That looks amazing, I want to see the wallpaper and the whales. Todd Saunders... I don’t know what to say... it’s sculpture that you can live in. I am so inspired. I love Newfoundland and I believe your architecture is honouring and complimentary to this Island. Think Pippy Park hillside next to the Janeway Children’s Hospital. I want to design an outdoor hospital room for the kids who have to stay at the hospital. I’ll graduate in 3 years and my goal is to be able to design it. A chance for sick kids to connect with nature instead of the sterile and noisy environment of the hospital... your first cabin... perfect size. Japan is doing it with great success to improve health. Wow. Very exciting stuff. Thank you. Your students are very lucky.

I am between this chair and an Eames Lounge chair (both from Manhattan Home Design), this video is making lean hard towards the Saarinen one.

What did you end up doing? Did you get a knoll version or replica?

Still today, the Manhattan Home Design replica is the best in the market. One of the greatest attributes of the womb chair is its vibrant, lively colorful presence. If you can get a decent replica like Manhattan's, you can lit a room with its beautiful design.
