So refreshing that this wasn't a click bait fake reasons not to get a cattle dog. Great video, awesome dog.

1. Thank you for doing this. 2. I LOVE how you're training your dog to shred amazon boxes! 3. Why do so many people who LOOK like adults ACT like children? (I will be happy when these disciples of "p-u-dee-pie" enter adulthood)

Sounds like these dogs would make amazing police/protection dogs. Instead of a cow ankle, it would be a perpetrator’s bicep. Or an increasable service dog. Just gotta give it what it needs to thrive

Finally a USA based Heeler that has his tail. Seen too many vids on YT of US based Heelers that have either been docked or are of the strain that has the bob tail. They need their tail....

We have a 3 year old heelers who doesn’t bite/nip at heels. Now we just adopted a 1 year old heeler/corgi and she keeps nipping my dogs heels, and my 3 year old is getting tired of it. Now I’m trying to find out how to stop her from nipping him.

For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕

Last year I took our 2 Belgian Malinois to Rattlesnake aversion class twice each. It worked extremely well. This year, we found 2 rattlesnakes on our property and the girls are not showing the expected reaction. Now we have a new GSD who is obsessed with lizard hunting, sticking her nose under every rock and pile of wood. I am looking for a class soon.

I got Bubba when he was 5 months old. 3 months later, I'm in hell. He's the cutest, sweetest, little monster I've ever known. Training went well until last month. We came to visit family, saw my doc while here, diagnosed with breast cancer. We're staying with my mom, who contradicts everything I try to teach or reinforce. Bubba has now become a precision nipper, and quite the con man. I'm going to be in chemo soon, then surgery. I can't make him stop jumping on me. I don't know what to do about it. Does anyone have any suggestions????

So my 2 rescue huskys are very old now. We're thinking about our next dog. ACD looks ideal, but I was wondering if this is a breed that you need to catch from a puppy to train it properly. Or are you just as fine training an older dog that's been put in a rescue?
@diydogguy
@diydogguy 8 күн бұрын
thats a good question...i think it depends on the dog...generally i personally do like catching a dog like that early to begin with early socialization and training but some older dogs are surrendered and are great dogs thats just didn't have proper guidance or owner didn't have time

It’s more like$1000 for a teeth cleaning. If your vet only charges $300 I’m driving from No CA to your area!! Truly though, when mine were pups I got them used to letting me use a dental scaler tool on their teeth. It’s saved me lots of money. It’s more difficult with ACDs because of their small mouths/jaws.

My blue heeler Zaira has been the biggest blessing! I never thought I would get a dog but we had her since 7 weeks and taught her from the go. She is a parvo survivor and is my biggest protector and she is only 3 almost. I want another but with the parvo I don't want to do it sadly.

I now have my fourth cattle dog. I believe the breed is the best.There is and I would have no other. I do have a question about.What do you think the difference between a blue healer and a red healer is. That's one matter more than the other.I said you have a red healer named cowboy mine have all been blue.

I want a Heeler. I've had many dog's in my life. And I Love to train them. I believe I will have a lot of fun with training my Heeler when I get one. I hear a lot of intelligence in these dog's. I can hardly wait! I've been looking for a young rescue. Or I will end up getting one as a young pup. ❤

My red devil partner in crime Jake just turned four years old and I can tell you, it only gets better. The first two years were a bumpy road at best, it took a lot (read: A LOT) of training and guidance (for both of us) to grow into the confident team we are now. But boy was it worth it, you will never get a more loyal, well willing, intelligent teammate as a well behaved Australian Cattle Dog and together we could rule the world. (But we won't, cause we dislike everybody except each other and that would be cruel 😜)

Hi Jack, do you have any content for ACD's who eat excessive sticks, leaves and grass? I assume it has something to do with a stomach ache, but have you seen this, and how do you deal with it?
@diydogguy
@diydogguy 21 күн бұрын
it can be due to an imbalance in their gut. Some dogs will still eat grass...it isn't necessarily an issue but if it seems excessive something like our kelp supplement has digestive enzymes that will promote a healthy gut: back40dogs.com/products/kelpsupplement
