It is important to remember that after running the "install add file flash:[filename] activate commit" command, you MUST respond to the [y/n] prompt that comes up a few minutes later (seen at 5:07) because it will time out after 2 minutes if left unanswered. If you do miss the prompt, do not run the same "install add file ..." command -- it will not work because there is already a process in place. Instead, you can run "install activate" to resume. Just watch diligently for that prompt this time!

I recently had to do this for about 20 9200 switches in my environment. My only question while watching this video was to why go to 17.9.4a when you could've upgraded to 17.9.5. Nonetheless, This will be a very helpful video for others to see.

When Mapping the drive from the cimc, I have a directory exposed where I enter 10.10.10.10/iso filename. During reboot and install when you define the path, do you still include the space or the full fqdn of the path?

Really Nice and informative video. For me one thing is not clear that is, how does the agent know about the performance of the Application? as you mentioned it does it by doing Synthetic monitoring (proactively). Should the agent be told to monitor specific VLANs for example, or does it sniff all the ports? I really need to know about the technical details and security aspects of this ThousandEyes. Thank you for a feedback.

Hey there, thank you for sharing your thoughts. You are right, ThousandEyes would need a user to configure the agents and tests to specifically target the endpoints or services within VLANs.
