Enve is for the rich, privileged, attention seekers! You can find the fork (same weight or slightly more) from the Trifox,or Selcof(UK) or CarbonCycles(UK) for the half the price! No need for the "Envy" stuff... But,we gotta show our money... Right? Westerners... You can sell them anything 😅😂 Greetings from Croatia

Good listen Jason, thanks you and bro sharing some good insight into the topic. As a routine 51 year old rider, I always looks for ways to make the trail/feature/section easier or more fluent (smoother), if it means slowing things down some. Seem to be still progressing my riding some (at a slow, steady rate of course). My mental hangups from bad wrecks/injurues is when a bike part failure happens unexpectedly that suddenly sends oneself to the earth hard. Like when my rear, disc side hub fully (radially) cracked in half after landing a small feature to steep, fast DH section that sent me down hard with zero rear brake control as well. Those kind of things freak me out for a bit, until fully up and running again.

My goals have shifted as I've been aging as a rider. For a while, I wanted to still learn new tricks (I'd love to get a full Superman air before I'm dead for example) but at the moment I have my hands full just trying to get cleared to ride again and my focus is on long-term health. Been spending a lot of time thinking about strategies for staying strong as long as I can. The gym is going to be a big part of that, as well as participating in other sports to compliment my riding fitness. I've been thinking a lot about my crashing skillset though - my jiu-jitsu breakfall training was a big part of what allowed me to progress when I started the sport. I'm also looking forward to getting back to basics once I can get back on the bike - manuals, rollbacks, and other low-consequence technical skills.

What carbon head tube plug did you use?

the fork includes a plug.

Putting carbon grip paste on a steerer tube is a bad idea and not recomended.

So the rigid MTB = flat bar gravel? Isn't it the 90s retro MTB?😅

I've done this 10 years ago with my cheap 26er MTB. I never would've thought that rigid forks would eventually become fashionable on MTBs years after.

We would never have thought that flat bar road bikes would be so popular either!

Awesome video and great looking bike!! However, I noticed that there’s a big difference between the forks axle to crown length. Any issue with the geometry?cheers!!

No, not for riding multi-surface rides and smooth single track. It's still far more confidence-inspiring than riding a road bike with big tires!

With the right tools (I used a simple bike tool kit kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L that you can strap to the bike) it's simple to assemble. As a 270lb guy looking for a way to get more exercise that's easy on my feet I have been impressed by this bike. The tires ship with air in the tires, but before you ride you need to pump them up som more, but once you do you can ride with confidence. You'll definitely want to replace the seat if you're going to ride for any real distance, but that's the case with most bikes. I'm loving it and it has given me a hobby from my youth back.

Thanks a lot. Still ich am wondering why no olive is seen at the open end of the hose before tightening it into the lever. Is the olive already contained within the opening of the lever interfacing the hose ?

This video is what should’ve been on a QR code in the box. Absolutely no instructions on how to attach the hose to the lever, so this really helped. Thanks. 👍

I think converting a mtb to a carbon rigid fork is the way to go since gravel bike gearing is often too high.

hi. nice video. I plan to do the same with my Scott scale... but does the geometry change much? the mtb has a longer top tube, use a shorter stem with the drop bars to compensate? i'm a bit confused about that. Greetings from Colombia

Man the voice audio in this vid is so bad. If you're going to narrate, maintain your tone all throughout. You'd start off with a normal tone voice then go to whisper at the end.

i converted my bmc too (with a 3t fork and a dropbar) and it still handles singletrack like a champ. Only now i am versatile as hell, be it rocky, loose pack, gravel, or even breaks of tarmac, this bloody bike does it all. would never go back, ever since, my 26inch is collecting dust

We actually have another TeamElite frame (it has a crack) that we're planning to have repaired at some point. The plan will be to build it with drop bars and road components.. but with a dropper post.
@williamjones36032 жыл бұрын
I’m considering this setup. What size bar do you recommend with this fork for a 5’10 man
@BermStyle2 жыл бұрын
that comes down to personal preferences. We've tried a range of widths and rises as well as inner bar ends for alternative hand positions. I'd start with inexpensive alloy bars before committing to anything nice though.
