People have really no idea just how much goes into making these Kaiju films. Toho's dedication is unsurpassed when it comes to the little details. Which is what makes these films perfection once they are completed. Brutal for the suit actors portraying the monsters but so rewarding when it's finished. And that's why they are the best in the world at it. We Americans can try to duplicate it easier all we want with modern CGI. But nothing will beat the intricate models and suit acting in my humble opinion.

GxMG was my most ever favorite Kaiju movie, and I loved what they did with all the effects in this movie, and it just looks so fun to just stomp around in a monster suit and you get paid for it too, but mostly fun as heck

I just took a vacation to Japan. When I checked into the Gracery Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo, that Kiryu suit was on display in the lobby.

Long time Godzilla fan. Was somewhat of a monster-hero to me when I was a little boy. Anyway, I'm here after watching Minus One and seeking out what others thought. Reviews for it were RAVING. This was suggested and, well, now i'm piecing together why the Japanese made such a great movie. Their movie culture is creative. It's thoughtful. It's detailed. It's made with purpose. Toho showed us that good movies can still be made today. That America has gotten lazy with their cookie-cutter movie punch outs. Throw a bunch of money at it, advertise the heck out of it, and people will go see it in troves. I guess it works? But nobody is putting Godzilla X Kong on their shelf at home proudly. It's forgettable cinema. Toho pieced together quite possibly the best Godzilla movie I've ever seen. It was done with respect to the Godzilla franchise and didn't settle for B acting. Turns out you can have both great action and great acting in the same movie. Who would have thought? Hollywood doesn't appear to believe in that sort of movie anymore. I like to believe Takashi Yamazaki told his recruiters "only the best. That's what we are doing here." Nothing short of greatness. Hollywood, you need to get your act together and start making quality movies again.

I hope those suits/props are preserved well, especially now that Toho has fully embraced using CGI, the new stuff looks great I just will always miss the practical effects of miniatures and guys in rubber suits

Shin Godzilla was filmed with a realistic suit. Anno wasn't satisfied though and they went full CGI for most of the movie.

@@GacMan47 still not sure why they did that, the physical prop was a massive puppet for close-ups it must have cost a fortune and even in the behind the scenes test footage it looked phenomenal. Plus this was one of the least agile Godzilla forms out there, he barely moves (besides the tail) so it's not like they needed CGI for a lot of dynamic movements so a suit/puppet would have worked just fine

The amount of work that goes into making these movies is astounding. The details in the city alone is amazing. I hope this art form is never lost.
