I know this was two 2 years ago, but while considering to add death cloud into my tergrid deck. I noticed Brenden didn't sac Tergrid. Tergrid should have been back in the command zone as pox-like effects such as Small Pox, Pox, Death Cloud resolve in order as presented on the card. This would have given his opponent's a turn to band together and think of a strategy. My Tergrid deck has wincons because I've learned the valuable lesson that once she is targeted down I may struggle to get her back out if I don't take advantage of her ability the same turn or the turn after (if I get the chance, lol).

i realized after becoming a patron that even if i have access to matts deck list I'm still not big brain enough to put the combos together in game...matt and other it might be a good idea to put a primer with you decks for extra info ! thanks and still enjoying the content !

They both have leave the battlefield effects. He can emerge one to play the other, but they can't recur themselves. He needed one more piece, like Scrap Trawler, in order to go infinite.

@@brandyourfan9244 oh, i see now. On death trigger happens during the emerge cast of another "retriever", and because of that the sacrifices one can't be recurred by itself back to the hand?

Always a pleasure to watch. I feel like you really hit the sweet spot in term of EDH content. Knowledgeable and good players, fun and powerful decks while not being too casual or too competitive, natural commentary without the "milquetoast" vibe that some other productions may have, and clean editing. Maybe it's just me, but it feels just right. Keep it up! :)

i think it's just cause magic is kind of archaic processing like it has to complete moving it to another zone before it can remove it. also if they didn't enter the graveyard, the token wouldn't actually die within the game rules it would just blip out of existence.

The idea is they go there like a card would, but because they don’t exist as a card, they cease to exist because they can’t be tracked. Even if they didn’t track like a real card, “dies” is counted on board not in the graveyard. So a token would still apply to death triggers

If I’m not mistaken, I think the guy triggering recruiter of the guard could have pulled any creature from his deck because of kudo.

“Other creatures…” on Kudo refers only to other creatures on the battlefield

They are creature spells on the stack, and they are creature cards in the graveyard, library, exile, command zone, or your hand. You may not need to remove those from your deck, what is your concern with those and how you think they function there?

@@derekstoll1282 folk hero states when you cast a spell of chosen creature type, but the deck has no bears in it so it won’t trigger. They need to hit the battlefield to become a bear and then I believe it’s too late. Basically the same issue with realmwalker.
