Well done brother on voicing these concerns. The challenge though is to preach a message that doesn't merely descend into religious good works. The challenge for christian teachers is to help people transcend from the flesh into the spirit. This is only achieved through faith in Christs provided forgiveness and faith in a daily present God who is working all things together for good. As you say some have run well but then descended back into the flesh and its works. Why? Because they reduced the Christian message to rules and do's and dont's. However those that are of faith enter into the rest that is for the people of God. Unfortunately in the name of discipleship and from human zeal church leaders don't allow people to find faith but keep them whipped up in a frenzy of religious works.

The Bible says that there is no name, other than Jesus, on which we are saved (Matthew 1:21 & Acts 4:12), so we shouldn't be calling The Father "YHWH." "Jehovah's Witnesses" turned the Hebrew letters, "יהוה" ("YUD HEH VAV HEH"), into English-letter equivalents, "JHVH." They then added made-up vowel sounds & came up with "Jehovah." They don't deny Jesus, but they've moved their emphasis away from him & onto the word, "Jehovah." "YHWH" is not supposed to be considered as the name of God (The Father).
