To be honest, i could understand the words you were saying even before trying to "correct" the pronunciation. In hopes of giving you peace of mind, don't overstress correct pronunciation. There are a lot of English accents. And a lot of words will sound a little different depending on accent. And even personal preference can alter pronunciation a little bit. I think you are doing amazing at learning English. Dont be hard on yourself. If you came to America right now i would be able to understand everything you said in this video. You should be proud of how far you have come.

Hi English Journey, Thanks for another interesting video ! For "before I knew it", I'd generally use it in terms of time e.g. "before I knew it we'd arrived at our destination", "before I knew it the exam was over", "before I knew it, it was Christmas". The meaning being that time passed faster than I had realised. For "without knowing it", the usage is slightly more varied e.g. "without knowing it, I bought the same phone as my friend" "without knowing it, my friend bought the same watch as me" You can often substitute "realizing" for "knowing" in this context. In a slightly different context: "The Japanese word for beer is ビール, without knowing it you may not be able to order at a bar" In terms of "kill time" and "kill some time", I'd say there isn't that much difference when using them in normal conversation. Both of them imply doing something while you are waiting for something else. Also in your last video, you said "I should have bought something faster" but weren't sure if that was the right word. I think in that context "sooner" or "earlier" would probably sound more natural. Hope this comment helps !

I totally understood what you meant, however it would be "I have a hayfever allergy". Hi English Journey, that was an interesting and fun hair band ! I had natto for breakfast this morning and was quite surprised when you then presented the natto hair band in the last video ! A quick comment about the pronunciation of "tear". It changes in certain circumstances, so when referring to ripping something its actually pronounced more like "tair". It's one of many strange oddities in the English language ! Hello. The quality of your video was improved because of a new iPhone. It's color and resolution are completely different from these of the old one. I didn't know the usage of "tear" as a verb. Thank you. I think Natto band can be used in the office. If you always use such kind of hair bands, when someone who does not know your face come to see you, people introduce you as "She is over there. She is the one who uses a strange hair band on her head." I don't think that it's strange but funny and it can make people smile. I've been at my family home since yesterday. Family home is comfortable. I will fly to Fukuoka tomorrow.

Hi English Journey ! Of the 3 words you said were difficult to pronounce, while you were reading the story both "shook" and "will" sounded perfectly fine to me ! I did struggle initially hearing "turtle", however after listening again, it also sounded okay. I'm used to the British pronunciation however I think your pronunciation is actually more in line with American English which is probably why I misheard it the first time ! In terms of using "will", the way it was used in the story was good. In conversation I will generally shorten "will" to "'ll". Consider the following variants: "I'll pass the exam" - normal conversational usage "I will pass the exam" - using "will" suggests being more definite "I WILL pass the exam" - i.e. with strong stress on the word will. Potentially used to contradict the person you're speaking to - in this instance they may have said "you'll fail the exam" and I'm replying to them indicating they're wrong. Note that depending on the situation and how much stress is used this can be seen as rude. I'll use "'ll" for I'll, he'll, she'll, we'll, you'll, they'll etc. For other things I'll generally use "will" e.g. "The company will switch to plastic straws", "the police will investigate", "the rain will start at 3pm", however that's not a hard rule as at times in conversation I will use the "'ll" form e.g. "the rain'll start at 3pm" which in written English doesn't look correct ! As an aside, we sometimes use "going to" in the same scenario e.g. "The company is going to switch to plastic straws", "the police are going to investigate", "the rain is going to start at 3pm". Finally, similar I believe to Japanese in some regards - intonation can change the meaning of the sentence - so "you'll do it" could be a question (rising tone on "it"), a statement of fact (relatively flat tone throughout) or an instruction/order (stress on "do it").

Hi English Journey ! I think your pronunciation of textbook is better than before, however it's not completely natural just yet. I'm not sure if it will help but maybe try pronouncing "text" on its own first to get familiar with it, then follow with a pause and say book. As you get familiar with saying the two words reduce then eliminate the pause. So text....book, text..book, textbook. As I'm not a teacher I probably haven't explained it very well, however I guess my main point is that the pronunciation doesn't change when the two words are combined. The video cut out so I'm not certain the question you wanted to ask at the end, however "I left my English textbook at my office" sounds okay to me. In conversation, I'd probably drop the second "my" so "I left my English textbook at the office", "I left my English textbook in the office", "I left my English textbook at home" or simply "I forgot my English textbook". If I changed the sentence to "I planned to study English, but I forgot my textbook", then it's implied that its an English text book, so it's not necessary to say "English" again - although it's not wrong if you do !
