Great video covering the new bike collection , lucky girl ! I get mine next week from Adie at Crescent Yamaha in Verwood , Dorset . Hope to do the same video idea with a pal of mine cos then people get to see the bike in question if someone else is filming it . I came back to biking at 65 when retired and have had 3 years on a Zontes 125 U1 which has been faultless . Agree with several of the comments below and in the video , a 125 will take you far and wide if you don't abuse it and keep it tip top . We go out on 120 mile round trips in Hampshire and the New Forest , no problem . Once run it , I've seen videos of the XSR holding 70mph on dual carriageways when needed and a flat out on the level of 80mph. Whilst you may miss the acceleration of a 650+ , the 125 will do 30 in a 30 , 50 in a 50 and 70 in a 70 , and average 120mpg to boot . So it has it's place for many riders , new , middle aged or ancient like me , ha ha. My only other thought is to do my A1 so I can get those bloomin L plates off . Just clipped a cone on a 650 doing my MOD 1 but everything else was fine , dammit I CAN ride but I'm not spending another £300 on a re-test and then £400 on MOD 2 just so I can say mine's bigger than yours . Rather put that money into a new 125 . When I get my channel up and running I'm hoping to post my vid of the Legacy on the road . Yours was great mate.

Yet another pov uselessity. Did you MEASURE anything? Top speed? Acceleration? Power? Did you try out some things? Clutch, roadholding? Brakes? Distance to stop? Just one more povideo is rather useless. Did you evalutate something? How high is it? WEIGHT? nobody seems to care for weight, yet quite important. etc

I bought this as my first bike at 49, I've had it for a year now. Engine sounds like one would expect, like a Honda cub, but as soon as you push the throttle all the way it gets really throaty and marvelous, it's surprisingly satisfying for such a small engine, sound definitely a plus. Of course I spend my time "shopping" around on the internet for a bigger bike but never really make the move, I cannot justify it as this one does all I need it to do a and in style. I may one dat migrate to more ccs or may even not, it would not be by necessity that's for sure. Pimp cruising on a 125 works for me🙂
@pottymouthbiker
@pottymouthbiker 11 ай бұрын
The thing is, objectively I'd say that's all the bike you need. Top of the 125 category, enough power to take you on A roads and motorways all day, light weight, perfectly managabe. I do ride a 1200cc bike tho, I am well aware that most of those ccs are just to stroke my fragile ego🤣🤣🤣

She did, and she kept up with the traffic on a30, we did constant 60-70 mph. If the bike is big enough, and you've got more than 10 hp to play with, it is doable. The size of the bike matters for comfort only.

Not trying to rain on the positive parade, but value in the very short term, DOES NOT match up with sub standard quality wire harness, connectors and assemblies that will fail in a short time. All these Chinese components (or most) are made from the cheapest materials and google Russo Scooters vs Honda reliability.. all the Cheap Chinese imports in the Philippines for example.. where most buyers crave the cheaper price, have learned NOT to be fooled by 25% lower motorbikes or cars or scooters or electric bikes that DON’T last.

Fair point... hopefully it'll work out for him in the long run. But all in all, this bike does give a surprisingly good first impression, and that first impression is important for kids learning to ride on a cbt. Sadly, there aren't any Japanese options for learner legal cruiser styled bikes in the UK at the moment.

@@pottymouthbiker and that is the problem! All I want is a 125 Cruiser, but there is no Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda or Kawasaki...What happened to Shadows, Rebels, VIragos, Eliminators and INtruders...it'll either be the RKV125 or the XSR125. Keeway has been producing this motorcycle for at least 12 years, it can't be that bad. A non-Chinese alternative is a Hyosung GV125i S Aquila EVO ABS, very similar to the Keeway RK V125C. These are more expensive, but both are V2.

Thanks. A question for you: which one rides better, the Iron 1200 or the XV950?"
@pottymouthbiker
@pottymouthbiker Жыл бұрын
Well, I have more experience on the iron, as that's my personal bike. Right out of the bat tho, the xv950 has better suspension, but the iron 1200 is slimmer, so I feel more in control. The xv950 is pretty smooth compared to the harley's rattling... also the yamaha is a bit lighter. But I still have easier time doing a u turn on the iron. So, possibly on every measurable way the yamaha is better. But still I love my Harley. I guess that's when they say Harley owners try to justify flaws by calling it character 😀😀

Hi I have just go a Yamaha xsr 125 legacy and would like to know what is the best paddocks stand and what points on the bike do you use. Could you do a quick video on it
@pottymouthbiker
@pottymouthbiker Жыл бұрын
I'm afraid we don't use a paddock stand, usually we work on the bike together, so one of us is holding it upright. Luckily we haven't had to lift the wheel off the ground. But usually, those stands jack up the bike from the rear axel. As far as I know tho, the frame is identical to the mt125s, so you should be able to fit a central stand. I've heard of people opting for that. Hope that helps. 😉

Hey mate. All good, everything was just fine. She's going to do a whole SE England to Cronwall tour this summer... she wouldn't go for it if she wasn't 100%. One thing to look out for.... after the first service, around at 1800 miles check engine light might come up, which only means that the bike needs an oil change. That should clear it. So half way through each service intervals it's worth changing oil. Apart from that, good as gold mate🙂🙂🙂 Cheers for the comment.

Thanks for this, I am looking at engine protection and looked at this option as more discreet than the bar protection cage which I might get when I get my XSR in a few weeks. I might get the exhaust protector aswell which goes behind the pillion peg and looks like a carrot sticking out the side lol but still worth it just in case. Hope she enjoys riding it, I look forward to mine when I get it. Safe riding 👍🍻
