Angers me that they allowed houses to be built on the trackbed at Garforth & Allerton Bywater, the route should have been preserved.

Quite enjoyed the history lesson. I do remember trains passing by Kippax station (Station Road) when I was very young, so about 1961 ish when I was 5.

In terms of naming in those times think of the parishes. Great Preston (and Allerton) belonged to the parish of Kippax. The line intersects the places.
