It’s more creepy than your letting on. They’re mimicking the sound of their prey to lure them closer. Even more creepy, Meowing is them trying to mimic humans speaking. But they don’t wanna eat us, They just want our love and our assorted meats

How interesting and strange!😍😟😶Does this fact you said have a reliable source?

Chirping being used as a way to mimic prey animals is definitely one of the supposed reasons but its not the only one. Cat behaviorlists also suggest that it can be a sign of frustration or excitement when seeing a prey animal that happens to be out of reach. I wasn't able to find any studies observing chirping in outdoor cats but allegedly it does happen. Domestic cats tend to try and be as quiet as possible when sneaking up on prey so making themselves known by chirping seems counterintuitive to me but I'm no cat specialists.

@@goldencheese626 I don't agree that they make this noise because of "bait not available". Because I saw many times that they made this sound when they were available The format of the texts and the book I read show that they are excited But what is very strange to me is that they make this noise when they see any feathered creature But creatures such as cockroaches, lizards, and mice do not make this sound

@@Lili__makhmal cats have been observed chirping in reaction to both birds and insects and while general excitement seems to be the overarching reason for this behavior, frustration is also assumed to be a possible factor. Again im no cat expert and have only done maybe an hour of research into this topic but that seems to be the general consensus.
