We played in Arkansas High School Chapionship Summer 1972 in Little Rock Arkansas. I got a draw off her, to tie for 3rd&4th among state HighS.chool . I graduated 1973 LRCH & kept Arkansas State chess statistics and was also UALR chess captain. In following years from 72-75 would visit with Fayetteville players Ruth, Orton, Applebee's, and Kuroda. Recall playing Pittsburgh in winter and collected a small cash prize ... We would kibitz over games in OKC, Fayetteville, Memphis, Little Rock & Dallas, during my travel days.

A very engaging approach. Very clear presentation. Thanks. But really must we have the ubiquitous Bolero when you list so many other works that he wrote?
@nandoflorestan Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they could have tried the Forlane, for instance. The Bolero doesn't go well with a chess game. But congratulations on all the content conveyed here. Except for insisting that they were "neoclassical" composers. Well, Prokofiev was, but only a small part of the time. Ravel was never "neoclassical". Maybe I am nitpicking, it's hard to be an uber expert on both music and chess at the same time.

Great episode! I love how all of the subject matter was not only relative but also the input from all of the individuals flowed rather nicely to the end of the show. It was important to hear the objective side as to understand that some of the people that did not sign did it in their, and their families best interest. The show of solidarity from this episode was equally important. Thank you for posting, Dave

This is a perfect example of a bad host of a show! The host never stops talking and the guest can't get a word in edgewise! The host asked his first guest to tell the viewing audience what Shelby Lyman's claim to fame was and then he failed to shut up and let the guest tell the audience about Shelby Lyman!
